James couldn't help but think about that call the other night.

It wasn't that it was unusual for Nadine to call. Heck, they always call each other. And it wasn't like she sounded different or anything. There wasn't really anything amiss.

It was her reason that got him thinking. She said she called because she wanted to ask about their schedule tomorrow.

Nadine had never called him --of all people-- for something about work. She had Ate Barbie for that. And anyway, she knew more about our schedule than James do. She would call about buying a new hat or something about her pets, or even just because she was bored. It was the first time she called because of their schedule.

"Sorry, I'm not sure." James said cautiously. "But I think you I saw you write some notes in your planner earlier."

"Right." Nadine said, sounding a little disappointed. "Sorry, I forgot."

"Are you okay?" James asked worriedly.

"Yes. Yes, of course." Nadine said hastily. "Sorry I called. I'll hang up now. Good night." She didn't even give James a chance to answer as she already ended the call.

James stared at his phone, feeling more worried.

He'd almost forgot about the odd call from Nadine but he was reminded by the movie they watched together just this weekend. At long last, they were given some time off and they decided to hang out at James' and maybe watch a movie or two.

James was surprised when Nadine chose to watch 'Hachiko'. They had watched it together before, and admittedly, they were both crying at the end of the movie. After that, Nadine had never watched it again, saying it was too heartbreaking for her.

"You wanna watch 'Hachiko'?" James couldn't help but ask.

"Yeah." Nadine nodded. "It's been so long since I've watched this." She said with a fond smile.

James just smiled a little hesitantly, nodded at her, and placed the DVD in the player.

In the few times James had watched that movie, he had been very absorbed. Except that day. He was just too distracted by Nadine who was freely crying in his arms. Somehow he knew it's not just about the movie.

"James." Someone called from his back.

He turned and smiled. "Yassi." He waved as Yassi made her way to him.

"Hey, it feels like it's been a while." James said. It really has been a while that they saw each other. They 've all been very busy lately.

"Well, you guys work too much." Yassi said with a grin. That was true as well. "Where's Nadine?" She asked.

"I was looking for her. I was going to ask you, you have some idea where she is?" He asked.

"Well, I saw her earlier. I think she went to the rooftop. Something about wanting to see the sky." Yassi said, frowning a little. "I'm not sure though, so better call her first."

James nodded. "Okay, thanks."

He was about to go, but Yassi called him once more.

"Hey..." She said hesitantly. James turned back to her.

"Yeah?" He asked, curiously.

"Are you and Nadine okay?" She asked.

James looked at her in surprised.

"We're great." He said.

"Oh... then that's good." Yassi said with a small smile.

"Did something happen?" James asked.
