Y/N's POV
I was awoken to the sound of a blaring alarm, a not very welcome sound, and so early in the morning as well. I got up, cleaning myself up and putting on my new scrubs that I had been given. I put my hair up into a braid, letting it run down my back. I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and everything I needed to do to get ready for my first day.
As I walked towards the dining room, I couldn't help but think of that man last night. He was odd, but he certainly captured my attention. And thanks to him, I knew my way to the dining room better than I had last night.
There was a dent in a hall, and it was at an intersection. When I made it to that dent, that would signify that I needed to turn right, and then the dining hall would be a few feet away. That was how I decided to remember, and it happened to work just perfectly.
The dining hall was starting to fill with a few stormtroopers and officers, but the large room was relatively quiet. It seems no one was a morning person on this ship. Not that I could blame them, the dullness of this place didn't spark much joyfulness in the first place.
I loaded my tray with a bit of food. I picked up some toast, alongside some fruit and a cup of juice. The meal didn't actually look that bad, although it was lacking slightly. It was a free meal, and a decent one at that.
I went to sit alone at a small table in the corner. In the dining room, there were a few windows that led to the outside galaxy. The ship was currently en route to a different planet, one that I wasn't aware of. The only visible sight from outside of the windows was the endless sea of stars and the vast darkness of space.
The sight of space in such an intimate way made a small smile cross my lips. It was a welcome sight compared to the dullness of everything else. It was beautiful, in a way. All of the stars, shining brightly and maintaining their glow while floating in an endless sea of darkness.
My breakfast was soon finished and headed to the medbay with a pep in my step. It was my first day, and I was fairly excited to start. I arrived to the shift on time, with Tizzy meeting me there to show me how to clock in.
"Good morning, y/n. I hope your first day went well?" She asked as she handed me my clocking card. The card contained my name and then a small barcode that I had to scan to clock myself in or out. I took the card, an appreciative smile appearing on my visage. Tizzy had been the nicest person I had met so far. While I did only meet three people- technically four if you count the mystery man, but he was a mystery, so he doesn't really count. Plus, he wasn't as kind as Tizzy.
"It was okay, thanks for asking." I replied. Tizzy just smiled, helping me with the clocking in system. She then put my card back and guided me towards the main floor of the medbay.
She gestured around, before pointing to a specific desk and clinic room. "This is where you will be. Since you're young and all that fun stuff, you'll be on the busiest floor." She explains, guiding me towards the desk.
"Here's your desk. You have a comm for special communications that you are expected to wear all day, every day. The data pad is also yours, which there is a note on the desk explaining how you can sign into it." Tizzy says, pointing to each thing she mentions.
I grab the comm, placing it on my left wrist. I then reach for the data pad, grabbing the small, handwritten note and using the information to log into it. The device flips to a home screen, a soft blue glow appearing from the data pad. Tizzy then gently grabs the device, explaining each concept of it.
After a bit, I was all caught up with the device. I would use the data pad to document cases and patient facts. I was also given access to patient files and patients that I would be assigned to when the time came for me to treat people.
