He signed a few autographs, waved, even did a tiny bow of gratitude before stepping back inside the shoot area.
"Alright, camera rolling in 3... 2... 1..."
The director gave the signal.
Jungkook posed, walked, smiled for the camera, holding the product as he moved across the sunlight-dappled walkway. The scene was smooth. Effortless. The man was a professional.
But his mind?
It was ticking like a clock.
Every second was a step closer to her.
---
"Cut! That was beautiful, Jungkook-ssi. Let's take a ten-minute break,"
the director called.
He nodded wordlessly, already drifting away from the cameras, settling into a shaded folding chair under a tree. A makeup assistant reached to blot his skin but he waved her off gently.
He didn't care about touch-ups. Not now.
His eyes slid to his silver watch.
5:23 PM.
Just few moments
His heart started pounding.
The park path just beyond the barricaded area twisted through trees, a trail open to the public who didn't realize the puppet master himself had planned everything to ensure she'd pass by-unknowing, unguarded.
"You're coming, aren't you, Sera?"
he murmured under his breath, lips curling faintly.
"Come to me now... Let me see you again. Even just your shadow will do."
He leaned forward, elbows on knees, scanning the path ahead-his pulse now drumming wildly in his ears.
She was close.
He could feel her.
---
The final camera click echoed, marking the end of the shoot. Jungkook smiled, thanked the crew with a nod, and walked toward his car as staff members scurried to clear the setup. The producers, assistant directors, camera operators-everyone began to leave in their respective cars, filling the street with the soft hum of engines and quiet goodbyes. The once heavily guarded park began to shift back to its usual form-open, calm, deceptively ordinary.
As Jungkook sat inside his luxurious black SUV, the leather seat cool beneath him, his jaw clenched with anticipation. He watched through the tinted window, his dark eyes fixated on the rusted iron gates of the park.
"She'll be here soon," he whispered to himself.
He turned to his driver.
"Don't drive. Not yet."
The driver gave a quick nod and exited the car quietly, leaving him alone inside.
The silence only intensified the pulsing in his veins.
His hand reached into the compartment. He pulled out a black face mask, a baseball cap, and a long, oversized beige coat. Within seconds, the global superstar vanished behind layers of fabric-now just a man in the crowd.
He stepped out of the car silently.
There was a slight buzz of excitement in the air as people began pouring into the park. Whispers and subtle glances passed among them-some recognized him, or at least suspected-but no one dared to approach. His presence was a mystery wrapped in secrecy. And Jungkook liked it that way.
