"Expelled!?" The class was not pleased with the news they've been given.
"Yes. The person who scores last on these tests will be expelled effective immediately. In hero work, one split second mistake means life or death, and there are no second chances in the real world. You either live, or you die. That's what being a hero is."
Uraraka speaks up. "But that's not fair!"
Aizawa simply glares at her. "LIFE isn't fair. Now get ready." He points at Izuku. "You. You broke the practical record. You can demonstrate." He tosses him a softball.
"That fuck nut did WHAT?!" Ignoring Bakugou was very easy.

Standing in the circle, Izuku devises a very simple plan. Crouching, he builds up the biomass in his legs but leaping straight upwards, priming his arm on the way up and throwing the ball as hard as he could at the pinnacle of the jump. Landing was... less graceful, with him hitting the ground hard enough to not only turn it into a crater but for the shockwave to knock all his classmates flat on their asses. After righting themselves, they get a look at Izuku's score. 602 meters. Setting the bar pretty high for everyone else.

He did similarly in other tests. In the 100 meter dash he came just short of Iida. In the endurance test they let him have at it until it just became redundant. For the seated toe touch, it was a simple matter of reducing his bone density. He basically tied with a guy called Shoji for the grip strength test. If only he could manage to copy his dads muscle mass ability, then he'd probably break the machine and get an infinity score like Uraraka did for the ball throw.

When it was all over, the class lined up for their results. Izuku was pleased to note that his overall score actually tied with Bakugou's. He could probably get some of his genes during hero training, get some of that explosion power. Buuuuuuut he really wanted to be petty and humble him first. The blonde thought he was hot shit, and Izuku looked forward to the day he showed him what the top of the food chain REALLY looks like.

The invisible girl who evidently got last collapsed to her knees. "Noooooooo!"
"And nobody is getting expelled."
The invisible girl, Hagakure if the leaderboard is to be believed, freezes for a moment before her clothes crinkle in a way that imply she's looking up. "What?"
"I said nobody is getting expelled. It was a logical ruse to make sure you put your all into these tests."

The class was in uproar, but one girl said it was obvious he was lying. How she came to that conclusion, Izuku will never guess. Humans are weird, he supposes.

Aizawa, better known as Eraserhead in some circles, stared after one Izuku Midoriya as he left with the rest of the class. His quirk, Bio-shifting, was listed as a transformation quirk that allowed him to alter his genetic code, resulting in a large variety of abilities, given practice. But when he tried to use his erasure quirk on him during the ball throw to prove a point and give him a brief lecture, it did nothing. So either his quirk registry is wrong, or there's something else going on here. He didn't think it was anything threatening, Nezu would have taken care of it if it was. But he'll be keeping an eye on Izuku Midoriya for the foreseeable future.

After school ended for the day, Izuku made a detour to the cafeteria before leaving. Uraraka seemed to be waiting at the gate. "Hi! Do you wanna maybe walk to the station together?"
Izuku shrugs, munching on a bar he grabbed, tendrils appearing inside his mouth to consume it unseen. "Sure."

As they walk together, she eyes his bar. "Where'd you get that? I don't recognise the brand."
Izuku shrugs. "My quirk encourages some dietary requirements, so the principal organised something with Lunch Rush. Wanna bite?"

She takes a bite of the bar and immediately hacks it out onto the sidewalk, giving Izuku a horrified look as he chuckles. "How could you eat such an evil thing?"
"Like I said, my body is weird. I don't make the rules. It's actually probably a good thing you didn't swallow. There's enough protein and calories in this thing to kill a man."

He looks around to see if there was anyone else close to them before whispering to Uraraka. "Hey, you want to know something interesting about Aizawa? He actually was planning on expelling somebody."
"W-w-what?!"
"Yeah. I can hear pretty well, and he didn't so much as stutter when he said he was gonna kick someone out. But when he said it was a ruse, his heart fluttered a little bit."
"But if that's the case, why didn't he expel anyone?"
"Simple." Tendrils course over his body, replacing his hooded uniform with his fathers iconic apparel. "We're just that good."

Arriving home, rather than seeing Hisashi or Inko Midoriya, Izuku comes face to face with Alex Mercer brooding on the couch. "Inko went to get groceries." He explains. "How was school?"
Izuku shrugs. "The usual. Took some tests, made some friends, all that normal jazz."

"Well, the first day of school is a pretty important milestone, so I prepared something for you."
Izuku looks up from his unpacking. "Is it another jacket? Cause I really love this jacket."
"Not exactly." Alex's eyes flash red for a moment as he transfers memories, skills, and knowledge through the pseudo hivemind he and Izuku shared that they called Blacknet.

"Did you just give me a PhD in genetic engineering and microbiology? ...wow, Redlight and Blacklight are so-"
"Complex? Fascinating? Beautiful if you ignore the 99.999% mortality rate? Yes, yes, and yes. If you're going into this, I want you going in knowing everything about what you are and where you come from. Be proud of what you are, Izuku."
Izuku smiles at his father. "I plan to. Thanks dad."
