After convincing Izuku to put the claws away and giving the kid some clothes that resembled his own, Alex sits him down to explain. "Ok, so this story is complicated and long so I'm gonna do this the easy way." He places a hand on Izuku's head and he's momentarily overwhelmed by an influx of information. Redlight, Blacklight, Blackwatch, Elizabeth Greene, and everything in between.

When it's over and Alex steps back, Izuku takes a breath while he processes. "So... I'm not really Izuku Midoriya, I'm some kind of sentient infection piloting his corpse like a meat puppet?"
Alex shrugs. "Basically."
"Wow... that's depressing."
"Eh, you get used to it, get over it, accept it, all that jazz."
Izuku nods. "Right."

An awkward silence settles between the two viral beings. "...soooooooo where do we go from here?"
"I don't know. I was never really good at the dad thing. When you're a walking bioweapon that finds out your wife is somehow pregnant you have a tendency to..." he trails off as he notices Izuku giving him a deadpan look. "Ok I panicked. I didn't even know it was possible for an infected corpse to have a kid. So I said I had a job offer overseas and wired your mom some money every week. Let's just get you home."

Walking down the street, Alex told Izuku more about his powers and what they could do one day, how they work. "Wait, why don't I just consume some of your biomass and get all of your powers?"
"Kid, I wouldn't be a good dad if I didn't make you work your ass off for shit."
Izuku shrugs. "That's fair I suppose."

He notices how his father is walking, his hands in his hoodie pockets and his resting face appearing rather scowly and mimics him. Noticing his son's demeanour, Alex is confused. "What are you doing?"
"Copying you."
Alex scoffs. "I don't look like that." He looks down at himself and realises that Izuku did in fact perfectly mimic his walking style. "Great, my kids a smartass. Dana would love you."
"Aunt Dana? Wouldn't she be like 200 years old? And dead?"

Alex stops before facepalming. "Right, I only showed you the super important stuff. Long story short, your aunt got infected by Greene, I saved her, she was sort of fine for a while, a guy called Ragland did something and now she's kind of semi immortal. We just tell everyone she has a rejuvenation quirk."

Arriving at the apartment building currently housing Inko Midoriya, Alex hesitates outside the door. "Give me a minute." He goes over to a nearby garden and rips up a few flowers into a bouquet.
"Isn't that theft?"
"Yep." Alex's body ripples with red and black tendrils, and when they disappear he is replaced with a brunette Japanese man wearing a nice suit.
"Wow."
"Yeah, I'll teach you that one later."
"Wait, if your clothes are part of your biomass, aren't you technically naked all the time?"
"...shut up."

Up in the building outside the Midoriya apartment, Alex hesitates. "It's just your wife. You've killed zombie hoards, diseased monsters, Greene, this is nothing."
"Do you seriously need to psych yourself up to talk to your own wife?"
Alex turns to his son. "Were you always this sassy?"
"How am I supposed to know, I have amnesia."

Any further back and forth is halted by the sound of locks turning and Izuku takes a few steps back to let his father do the talking. The door opens and a short woman with green hair tied back is seen, her eyes red and bloodshot like she'd been crying. "Hisashi?" His fathers current alter ego most likely.

"Hey, Inko. I was coming to visit and heard what happened."
Her lip trembles before she latches onto the taller man, sobbing. "I failed our son! I get a call saying he jumped off a roof and then I get told his body got up and walked away and no one knows where he is or what's going on and-"
"Inko!" The sudden exclamation cuts off her tearful tirade and she looks up at "Hisashi". "It's ok. I found him. On my way here, actually."

He steps to the side to reveal Izuku, looking different to how she last saw him but still recognisably Izuku. There was a pause before she latched onto him in a similar way she did to his father, if a bit tighter. "I'm so sorry Izuku!" That phrase triggered a flash of memory, not unlike what happened when he first woke up, of a much taller and thinner Inko hugging a much tinier version of himself saying the same thing under a very different context.
After processing the new information, he tentatively hugs her back. "It's ok. It wasn't your fault."

The following days were...tense. His father moved back in under the pretence of being able to work from home and his mother made a habit of hovering around him almost constantly when she could. Then there was school. Apparently even in a world where people fly, have two heads or are even made out of bricks somehow, straight up killing yourself and coming back from the dead acting like a different person freaks people out. A little annoying, but not too unreasonable.

His dad said memories from the original host of Blacklight could be regained by going through familiar things and places, or even mentioning things. He managed to get a fair few of the old Izuku's memories back by flipping through all his personal items. A lot of them were either sad and lonely or scared and in pain. Whoever Izuku used to be, that was one depressing kid.

And he understood that All Might was kind of a big deal, but what the actual fuck was up with his room? When Inko found him packing away a fair few of his All Might memorabilia, she looked so sad, so he kept up a handful of posters and action figures.

The most interesting thing he found was his notebooks. There were a lot of them, and many memories were tied to them. His father said the analytical skill behind them was impressive, and that's coming from a man with the combined knowledge and experience of hundreds of thousands of military personnel, so that's saying something. Although, whoever this "Kacchan" guy was, he was a real piece of shit.
