Start from the beginning

My brows crunched together, a little confused by the sudden question.

"Sure."

Her hands were holding my waist as I got off of her as I placed my hands on her shoulders to steady myself.
The pain was there, but bearable. Kinda like the day after an intense leg workout with Abby mixed with a motor vehicle collision.

As per usual, I'm dressed by Ellie's hand, this time, a largely oversized sweatshirt and a pair of baggy boxers, both of them being hers.

I watched her as she rummaged through a shallow clay bowl she had on top of her dresser, miscellaneous little items clinking against the terracotta as she pulls out a key.

The keychain holding a singular key dangled from her finger as she outstretched her hand, waiting for me to take it.

Hand in hand, she lead me to the opposite side of the house, a part I haven't been in since I've had no reason to, and didn't feel comfortable snooping around when she was in such a bad condition a few weeks back.

We stopped as we reached a set of double doors, her hand dropping mine to pull out the key before inserting it into the keyhole.

My mind was racing- the grandeur appearance of the mysterious doors, and what's so important behind them that she kept it locked?

It clicks, and she goes to open it before stopping, turning back around.
She looked like she was about to say something, but doesn't, a look in her eyes that felt like fear or something similar before turning back, and opening the door wide.

I felt nervous to look around as I followed in behind her, so many things at once making it hard to see the details, but it only took a few seconds before I realized what this was.

It was a studio, multiple paintings tacked to the walls, some overlapping others, and a desk cluttered with things similar.
It was almost picturesque in the way the room was laid out like something painted from a memory or a photograph- A bay window as the focal point of the room, the sill filled with various supplies, and stained with paint.

"Holy shit, el-" I started to say, but I'm wildly entranced by the easel set up catty cornered to the window, a half-finished acrylic painting on the canvas.

I step closer, "Is this... me?"

Ellie

My hands start to sweat the closer she got to the painting, and by her not saying anything, it only got worse.

This was such a dumb fucking idea.

What if she thinks this is creepy? Or that I'm crazy fucking obsessive?

Still not a word is spoken as she walks over to the desk where I tread quietly behind, still unsure whether or not my proximity is wanted at this point.

Her index traced over the notebook opened to my last doodle, carefully turning the pages.

She looks back, the expression she wore made her feelings unknown-

"Are these all me?"

I wanted to claw out of my skin.
The tenseness of not knowing made it hard to be here.

As uncomfortable as I felt, if she's going to be living here, at the very least, she should know about a room that was essentially a shrine dedicated to her.

"Pretty much."

She turns back, and sat down in the chair, another page folding, and then another, and another...

I cringed as I thought back to all the sketches I've made of her, some innocent, others not so much...

"I'm sorry if this makes you uncomfortable, I know it's probably really weird-"

I stopped as I heard soft noises coming from her, and it took me a second to recognize it as her crying.

Way to fucking go, Ellie.

"Hey, hey... I'm sorry. Don't cry."
While shushing her, I walked over, and rubbed the back of her shoulders before bending down to her level.

I felt like an idiot. Of fucking course she thinks this is horrifying, why wouldn't she? I might as well bring her back to Abby with a giant fucking congratulatory check like she won the damn lottery.

"You made me look so pretty."

What?

"What?"

"And look-" She sniffled, pointing a finger on the page,"-you make my boobs look so good."
Full on sobs almost made her sentence go unfinished, but at the same time, it's almost like she's laughing?

"Uh..."
I laugh along nervously, but a part of me was worried I needed to call someone incase this was some sort of mental breakdown.

Did I seriously... like... break her last night?

Sky

I frantically flapped my hands in front of my face, the idea being the breeze would calm me down because holy shit... this is embarrassing.

It was not only unwarranted, but totally unexpected. Maybe I'm feeling extra vulnerable after last night, or I'm overwhelmed by this romance movie level of love that Ellie has so shamelessly displayed in these drawings.
I feel so seen, so wanted... and for once, the beauty she has portrayed in these lines, I believed it.

"Sorry... shit." I fanned away, the tears stains slowly drying to my skin. "I just wasn't expecting this."

We're both laughing as Ellie's hands were placed on my knees, and she was looking up at me, reassuring me that it was okay, and to stop the apologizing.

I played with her fingers that were resting on my knees, stroking the length of them with my index to help me settled down to a more appropriate level of emotion.

My cheeks hurt, I couldn't stop smiling.

"So-" Ellie cleared her throat, her cheeks sharing a similar shade to mine. "You're not totally weirded out by this?"

I shook my head, more aggressively and urgently than I would've liked.

"Ellie, this is the sweetest thing anyone could've ever shown me. Why have it locked up?"

The question was an after thought because I really didn't think it was for anything bad, but by the way Ellie face seemed to deepen, I thought differently.

"Allie came in here once... totally trashed it. I think she recognized you in the drawings so she got jealous."

As horrible as the story was, Ellie chuckled, almost as if the memory had now brought her some sort of joy.

"You really know how to get a woman all hot and bothered, don't you?"

She looked up, the smirk on my face being contagious to her own before she stood, and leaned forward, placing her hands on the arm rests by my sides.
She slowly closes her face in on mine, and dropped her voice to an almost whisper,
"You would know, wouldn't you?"

A thump could be felt in the pits of my stomach, and my thighs squeezed together, her lips hypnotizing me to the point I was subconsciously leaning forward to meet them, and just before they could connect, she stands.

"Let's get you cleaned up, we have errands to run."

Understandably so, I felt betrayed, but also confused.

"What errands?" I asked, taking her hand that she was holding out for me, and stood up from the chair.

A dimple is displayed as she smiles at me, leaning in for a quick peck, "I owe you a new set of fishnets, don't I?"
