After Abby and I settled the debacle downstairs, I promised her I'd stay the night with her, which to be completely honest... maybe I should've discussed that with Ellie before jumping the gun, given Abby did, in fact, lay hands on her...
Nothing serious thank god... can't have her pretty face all smashed up, but it was enough to have a lasting impression.
But I owed Abby this- this one night together where we can do what we used to always do... Get all the disgusting-for-you snacks and binge terrible movies.
Plus I really, really wanted to spend time with her since I have a feeling things between Ellie and I are going to progress significantly... given the talk I had with her yesterday after my conversation with Abby had ended.
"Move in with me."
Yeah. It doesn't get much more straightforward than that...
And Abby and I had a great night, and that's including all the Nicolas cage films, but, as promised... now I'm at Ellie's.
Pulling up to the house, things were a little... different. I had work tonight, and for the first time, I'm going to be getting ready at her place.
To prove how much I was trying to avoid this particular circumstance, I went home to get ready for work even during that week I was staying over.
Maybe, I'm being dramatic. Ellie has seen me in work clothes plenty by now.
But it's different... At least, that's what it feels like.
"Hi, baby."
Ellie says, her arms already pulling me in for a hug before I could return the greeting.
Once she let go, her smile continued, or more of a shit eating smirk, I couldn't tell.
"You don't need to knock, weirdo. You have the passcode or was your own birthday too hard of a code to remember?"
I rolled my eyes.
"Sorry for trying to be respectful."
Wrong. I wasn't trying to be respectful. I was trying to coverup how awkward I felt, but something tells me I wasn't convincing Ellie, but even so, she didn't press it further.
She ushered me inside, and once I did, she was already taking my bag from my shoulder, and setting it down on a chair nearby.
Honestly, the chivalry of this girl was at an all time high and I haven't been at her house for more than two minutes at this point.
Maybe she's was feeing the tension too, well, I know that to be true because she looks at me and kisses me in a way like she had almost forgotten the proper procedure of how our relationship worked.
"How are you? How was the drive?" She asked, her hands searching for the back pockets of her jeans, shoving her hands inside.
My eyebrow lifted, "Uh... fine?"
It came out as a question more so than a statement.
She was painfully nervous, about what I have not a clue, but her obvious awkwardness seemed to erase all of mine that I had previously.
I looked at her as she was looking at me, something she wanted to say was clearly at the forefront of her mind.
"Ellie... are you okay?"
Her lips pursed forward, a slightly less than stable breath being blown between them.
"Uh... yeah. I just got a call before you showed up.... The cops found her."
