Praise for revision and editing

I thought that by the end I'd not want to read my own words one more time, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Instead, re-vision allowed me to see one last time whether I have written clearly.

My major sin? Repeating words.

I have a lazy brain. If it already has a word in mind, it will use it again, with a different meaning, rather than go dig up a new word.

In just the first scene, I make fifty tiny changes, a word her, a phrase there. A more active verb, a more precise noun.

This scene has been finished for years.
