Since drabbles are a popular form, I'm making a place to store mine. I'm changing this to op ed pieces in 100 words. Occasionally (like the first part), some fiction will leak in. But I'll quarantine it with quotes and some non-fiction words around...

Missing in action - learning graphic design

I'm DIY. I long ago decided to learn to do my own covers, as a brain-stretching activity to forestall decline (different brain areas from writing).

I bought Pixelmator for my Mac. Over the past month I have been climbing the steep learning curve, determined to master the Photoshop-like controls.

I paid MONEY for an image! I took photos.

I found a mentor.

I bought a video course. It is amazing. And then I put in the work: everything is counterintuitive. There are too many controls. You have to learn pixels and dpi.

I haven't had this much fun in ages!
