The sound of paper ripping rang through irohs study as a twelve year old Hisane stared at her father with wide and horrified eyes that followed the now destroyed plan for a modernised fleet design she'd be working on
"Dad what are you doing?" Hisane blinked
"I told you to stop with this foolish hobby, now you want to show it to ozai??" He questioned
"But why?? These designs would benefit our nation!"
"That's exactly why you need to stop. You're too young to understand"
"Then explain it to me! Can't you take some time out of your day to talk to me?? I brought this to you because I thought you'd be proud" Hisane said in a desperate tone as Iroh pinched the bridge of his nose
"Well I am not proud of this" he sighed avoiding Hisanes heartbroken eyes
"Why couldn't you have died in ba sing se instead of him?? Atleast he actually cared for me" she scoffed as she knocked over her chair, storming out of the room
"Hisane.." Iroh murmured

"Hisane." Another voice spoke as she slammed the door, the twelve year olds eyes widening as they met Ozais
"Hello uncle!" She bowed as ozai wore an unusual smile
He only smiled when an opportunity arose, Hisane had learnt that after his sudden coronation
"Personally I think your design was quite promising" the fire lord hummed as his niece gave him a puzzled look
"You do?"
"I want a redesign in my throne room by tomorrow" he nodded as a small smile appeared on Hisanes face
"Right away" she nodded, happy to have been given some type of positive recognition
However for Ozai, he knew by supporting the isolated Princess he'd be able to mold her into an asset for him to use to further his power

"What was that?" Toph questioned as they all sat across a fire
"What was what?" Aang asked as Toph raised her head "Hisane, what was that with your dad?"
"It was nothing" Hisane said with a dismissive wave as her friends frowned at her "we could've waited for you if you wanted to see him wake up, we could've even taken him with us" Aang offered
"It's fine really" Hisane spoke "believe me when I say he would much rather see zuko when he wakes up"
