"Yes," she says, her eyes bright with tears. "My dear child, you've done so well"
Leaving the Erudite Compound felt dreadful, and walking away... well that felt worse. When Tris walked out of the room containing her hopeless bother, Will was gone. He left a note with the desk attendant saying that he thought that this was one of the few things that she needed to face alone. Her family affaires, something that he didn't think he could help with.
As she passed by the Abnegation compound a thought passed through her mind, "My mother, my mother is still alive." The one person she knew could truly understand her.
Almost halfway home to dauntless, she jumped off the train landing on the soft grassy surface of Abnegation. She ran through the streets, children trying not to stare, for they were taught it was rude. The streets seemed strangely familiar, deja vu is what they called it, but Tris knew that she used to play on these streets as a child. She sometimes took this route to give food to the factionless.
Even the truth seemed so far away.
The moment her eyes laid upon a certain grey stoned simple structure, she knew her mother was home... she could feel it. She ran up the steps and swung the door open with an immense force, not caring of the strained glances from the neighbors. She ran through the house, cutting corners and searching room by room, tears running freely down her cheeks, and then she saw her.
Her mother. She ran up from behind the middle aged lady washing dishes and grasped her so tightly.
Her mother chuckled, "What are you doing here Beatrice?" she wiped her hands on a cloth before turning around coming face-to-face with her daughter.
"M-mom." she choked, not being able to grasp onto the idea that everyone she held dear to her was still alive.
She buried her face into her mother's linen gown, "Yo- You're alive. You're here. The one person I would pray to be sitting at home washing dishes instead of being gone... was washing dishes."
Her mother placed both her hands unto Tris' cheeks catching the tears as they fell, "My daughter, no matter the obstacles you overcome I will be here for you... always."
