Season 1 Episode 9: The Royal Blacksmiths

A few days occurred after the Serpentine acquired the first Fangblade, they now are inside a Pyramid where they look for the second one, Pythor leads holding the map, he then stop causing Skales to bump into him
"Ugh, why musssst we ssssstop if the next Fangblade is just ahead of ussssss?." Skales asked as Pythor used his staff to crumble the floor beneath them
"What good is unlocking the Great Devourer with the four Fangblades, if we're not around to see it? Get the boy!." Pythor yelled
"Bring the boy!." Skales commanded as two serpentine grab Lloyd and free him from his chain
"Oh, you're letting me go?." Lloyd asked surprised
"Heh, only to fetch my dear boy. Do step lightly." Pythor leads Lloyd to the edge of the ledge, Lloyd jumps onto a platform and almost falls, he screams
"Bring me the Fangblade and I'll let you go." Pythor offered Lloyd
"Oh." Lloyd grunted, he managed to avoid all the traps, as he runs from darts, he runs into a room where the rocks collapse, Lloyd gets up and makes it to a pedestal, only to see its empty
"It's gone!." Lloyd yelled echoing much to Pythors dismay
"It's gone?!." Pythor yelled
"Where issss it?." Skales asked
"Do I still get to be freed?." Lloyd's voice echoed muffled hopeful
"No!." Pythor yelled
"Ugh!." Lloyd groaned

At the Destiny's bounty, the five ninja try to figure out how to stop Pythor from unleashing the Devourer while examine a Fangblade hologram
"They got the first one, but there are three more, and we just need one to stop Pythor. They have a map, and we don't, so the question remains, how are we gonna find them first?." Nya asked as Jay tried to gawk over Nya
"I still can't get over the fact that you were the mysterious Samurai. Is anyone else blown away like I am?." Jay asked everyone
"We're over that. Can we move on?." Kai asked
"Someone's a little hot under the collar." Jay said gibberisly as he and (Y/N) high fives
"It appears his impatience is because he has not found inner peace and unblocked his full potential like you and I have Jay." Zane explained
"Great observation. Mr. Roboto, but Cole hasn't found it either, and (Y/N) still doesn't have any powers." Kai said as (Y/N) and Nya glared at Kai
"I got it!." Cole yelled smiling
"You've unlocked it? Oh why am I the only one?!." Kai yelled upset and angry
"No, I figured out where I recognised the Fangblade from. I have a picture of it." Cole said as he grabs the picture much to Kai's relief
"Oh, haha, is that it? Heh, good." Kai said relieved
"I got it!." Cole said showing them a picture of the blade cup
"Huh, what do you know." (Y/N) said
"That's it!." Jay yelled
"Back where I grew up, there's this pretty big competition where every year the winner gets the Blade Cup. My dad's won it multiple times." Cole explained
"You never told us your dad was an accomplished athlete. What sport?." Zane asked
"Oh... he's a... uh... a blacksmith." Cole said slightly embarrassed
"Nothing wrong with that. My father was a blacksmith too. But I never heard of a competition." Kai said confused
"It's a different blacksmith Kai." (Y/N) said
"(Y/N) is right, that's because he's not a "blacksmith" blacksmith, he's a royal blacksmith." Cole said tuning the page of his album to show them a picture of his dad, everyone snickers
"That's your dad?." Jay asked snickering
"But how did the Fangblade become a trophy?." Kai asked confused
"Well, supposedly, the Blade Cup was made by this guy who collected priceless artifacts. His name was something like, uh, Dutch... no Clutch. Clutch Powers!....
"Wait wait wait, you mean the explorer dude from the famous city? That Clutch powers?." (Y/N) asked as Cole nodded
"Anyway, it gets passed on to each years winner." Cole said
"Who has it now?." Zane asked
"I don't know. I haven't talked to my father in years." Cole said
"Well then. We'll call him up." Kai said
"You can't! He thinks I'm in Ninjago City training at the Marty Oppenheimer School of Preforming Arts." Cole groans as he remembers why
"He wanted me to follow in his footsteps. But when I couldn't sing or dance, well, I... I ran away. When he sees I can't dance, he'll know I've been lying in all the letters I've been sending him." Cole said
"He doesn't know you're a ninja?." Zane asked
"I mean it would be pretty weird if Cole said "hey dad! So news, I didn't run away from home to dance, I decided to become a ninja and fighting gaunt human like snakes! So all those letters you got are all lies! Hope you not mad!." (Y/N) said as Zane looked confused as (Y/N) sighed
"Yeah that kinda sums up the situation here (Y/N)." Kai said
"So what do we do?." (Y/N) asked
"Well, if we're going to have any chance at getting that Fangblade before they do, we better get our own act in tune." Kai said smiling

In the Realm of Madness, Garmadon and Wu climb the mountain
"I had hoped to reach the summit before the moon has risen. The Craglings never miss a midnight snack." Garmadon said as Wu looks confused
"Craglings? What is this place? There's no such thing in Ninjago." Wu asked
"They're a horde unlike any you've seen. Not all places exist to be found, brother. Sometimes one must revel in the shadows to truly see the light." Garmadon said as rocks began forming together to form Craglings, the duo fights them, Wu uses a small hook and smashes them to pieces, unfortunately Wu gets pinned down
"Watch out brother!." Garmadon yelled as he destroys the Cragling
"Thanks, just like old times?." Wu asked
"Just like old time." Garmadon said
"Ninja! Go!." They yelled using Spinjtizu to attack the Craglings

Back on the bounty. The ninja finally locate Lou's home and jumps off the bounty
"Woo-hoo!." Kai screamed
"Yeah, wooo!." Jay screamed as they fell
The ninja use the Golden Weapons to form their vehicles, (Y/N) hops on the back of Jays storm fighter as they land safely, Cole grabs an instrument case
"Alright, hand them over." Cole said
"Ah-uh. But no mortal shall possess all four." Jay chuckled before giving him the Nunchucks of Lightning
"Very funny." Cole spoke annoyed
"Hey at least my weapons are safe." (Y/N) said as he placed his Sais in it
"It feels so weird seeing all Golden Weapons in one spot with two silver weapons, feels weird." Jay said as (Y/N) rolls his eyes
"Hey thanks for reminding me I don't have a cool Golden weapon too." (Y/N) said annoyed as Jay sheepishly chuckles
"You wanna remind me again why we can't keep our weapons?." Kai asked as he and Zane place their weapons in as well
"I told you, my dad can't find out im a ninja. And I don't feel like making up excuses why I'm carrying a giant scythe around with me. Just remember the plan. We find out who has the Fangblade trophy, we snatch it, and then we get the heck out of town." Cole explained as he knocked on the door
"Just a moment." Lou said as he opens the door
"Hey dad. How longs it been?." Cole asked smiling
"What? You too good for the doorbell?!." Lou spoke sternly as he slammed the door much to their confusion
"Uh....
"Use the bell son." Lou said from behind the door, Cole pressed it
"Welcome." The door bell sang much to their confusion, Lou opens the door again smiling
"Haha. Come on in son. It's been forever. What did you bring? A Quintet? That's something you don't see everyday, but besides that, Come in, come in. I've got a kettle of lemon honey tea on the stove right now." Lou said as they walked in
A gramophone plays some music in the background. After they seat, Cole groans
"Nice house sir." (Y/N) complimented as Lou smiles
"Why thank you young man, and call me Lou, sirs more of a professional name I like to use when on stage." Lou smiled as he looked at the gang
"Did I ever tell you I broke my foot? It was the cha-cha, but I swear the percussionist had it in for me." Lou said
"No, dad. I didn't tell them about your silly stories Cole groaned
"Silly stories?." Lou looked confused
"Oh, what he meant was, we've been busy training at the... uh....
"Uh, the Martha Oppenheimer. Yeah." Jay said finishing Kai's sentence only for the background music to stop
"Martha Oppenheimer?." Lou asked confused
"What he's trying to say is the Marty Oppenheimer School of Preforming arts." Zane corrected
"Right, well, um, see, we have this final research paper we're doing on the history of Ninjago talent and what we really wanted to know was how can we get our hands on the Blade cup?." Cole asked
"You're talking about getting your hands on the Blade cup? The most prized and heavily guarded award in all of Ninjago, the symbol of excellence in harmony and grace? You can't just get it, you have to earn it. You have to exhibit style. Perfect pitch. Push the boundaries of artistic license and.... Win this years Ninjago Talent Show!." Lou smiled
"Um, perhaps there's an easier way." Zane asked
"If there's an easier way, we're just curious that's all." (Y/N) smiled
"Is this why you came? You knew I was injured and when my quartet insisted we shan't go on, you five have come to take our place! Haha, ingenious! My son, bring forth the next evolution of the Royal Blacksmiths! Let me hear the sweet, sweet, sweet sound of Harmony." Lou said as he waited and listened in, they get up confused
"Harmony.......
"Harmony......
"Harmony......
"Harmony.......
As the four harmony dies down, Cole groans and Lou cringes
"Look dad. We just need the trophy." Cole said
"Yeah, we're bringing home the gold and- and we want you to train us." Kai said
"Yeah, have one of Ninjagos greatest Blacksmiths teach us in the way of the Blacksmith." (Y/N) said as Lou smiles
"I've never been more proud. If you'll excuse me, I need to write a song about my feelings." Lou sniffled as he walked away happily
"What are you doing?." Cole asked
"Trying to get us the trophy the easiest way possible." (Y/N) said crossing his arms
"I can't sing or dance, and I don't even know if you can sing or dance either." Cole crossed his arms as he glared at (Y/N)
"Look, we enter this competition so we can get close enough to the Blade cup. Once we get the Fangblade, we leave town. How hard can this be?." Kai asked
"Well, knowing our luck, it's gonna be very hard and we can thank Kai for solidifying that." (Y/N) said as Kai glared at him

Meanwhile, two serpentine walk around Ninjago, they spit a poster for the Talent show
"Hey, get a load of that!." Mezmo pointed at the poster
"Oh, look. A sssssinging competition. I like ssssssinging." Snike said as Mezmo smacked the back of his head
"No you idiot! The trophy! It's the Fangblade!." Mezmo pointed out
"Wait. That's what Pythor'sssss looking for!." Snike said
"We have to tell the others." Mezmo said as he grabbed the poster

Back at Lou's house the ninja train
"Okay, from the top, five, six, seven, eight." Lou said playing some keys
"Bop till you drop." Kai sang
"Shake it till you break it." Jay sang
"Move till you lose it." Zane sang
"Jump till you make it." (Y/N) sang
"Spin till you win it." Cole sang
The panic music stops
"Stop! Stop! Ugh. If my ears weren't attached to my head, they'd be running away! Kai, love the energy, hate the hair." Lou's said as he hits Kai's head with his cane
"Ah!." Kai groaned
"Jay, you're giving a lot, but I need more! Zane, you're like a machine. Don't change anything." Lou said as Zane smirks
"(Y/N) great voice, but you need better balance." Lou said
"And Cole, try to act like you wanna be here." Lou's said
"He's worse than Sensei Wu." Jay whispered as (Y/N) glared at Jay
"Okay, moving forward. Let's take a look at the big show- stopping climax. Cole, we can't have history repeating itself." Lou's said as Cole sighed
"Dad, it was the Triple Tiger Sashay. I was seven." Cole said
"What's the Triple Tiger Sashay?." Kai asked
"Only the most difficult dance move ever created." Cole said
"It's true. Many professionals have dare tried, but it's never been successfully completed." Lou said
"Hence, my father thought a SEVEN YEAR OLD could! But I ended up failing on my face, humiliating myself, and letting my quartet down." Cole said annoyed
"If you're gonna to win, you have to go big! Alright, time for a break. Take five." Lou said walking away
"Uh I'm starting to see why Cole is so closed off. It's cause twinkle-toes here couldn't deliver the goods. Is that why you ran away? Jay asked
"Oh I could deliver the goods- look. I'll deal with my father, but let's stick with the plan. All we have to do is keep this charade long enough until we can get our hands on the trophy." Cole said
"I don't know. I'm starting to think we can win this thing." Jay said as Cole grunts at him
"Okay okay. We'll stick to the plan." Jay said as (Y/N) sighed
"If something wasn't gonna happen before, it sure is now." (Y/N) sighed

Meanwhile, Skales and Pythor enter Lou's village via the sewers
"It'sssssss here. I feel it." Skales said
"Calm down. There's no need to attract unwanted attention." Pythor said as he looked around
"Look, the ninja." Skales pointed at them training
"Bop till you drop."
"Shake it till you break it."
"Move it till you lose it."
"Jump till you make it."
"Spin it till you win it."
"Ugh, now there'sssss no chance to take it." Skales sighed
"Patience. We're snakes, remember. They'll never see us coming. Hmm." Pythor noticed a poster and reads it
"Open audition." Pythor chuckles as they enter the sewer again

Back in the Realm of Madness, Garmadon and Wu had finished the last Cragling
"The vortex back to Ninjago is just over that buff, please, you first." Garmadon said as they walked over
"Though we live in two different worlds. I still see good in your heart, brother." Wu smiled
"The battle between our worlds is inevitable. You put too much trust in me." Garmadon pushed Wu who grabbed the ledge
"But I came for your help to save your son! Did you lead me here to destroy me?!." Wu yelled betrayed
"See you on the other side." Garmadon said as he pushed Wu down the vortex as he screams, Garmadon jumps in after him laughing. Some villages saw Wu and Garmadon landed on the ground, the people cower
"I'm back Ninjago!." Garmadon laughed evilly

At the concert hall, contestants are practicing singing, beatboxing and juggling. The ninja practice their routine
"Then kick change, barrel roll, barrel turn, and we all do the double wings-
Jay and Kai bump into each other
"Ow! Dude, you gotta follow me." Jay said
"Follow you? You're two beats off." Kai said
"Actually, 2.72 off the beat." Zane corrected
"Just follow the steps properly." (Y/N) said
"Guys, guys! Let's not make this any harder than it needs to be. We must stick to the plan and keep up the charade until the trophy is revealed. Once we steal the Blade Cup, we can argue all we want once we get back home." Cole said
"But this is your hometown. Cole, don't you want to try and win it?." Jay asked
"Yeah, I feel like you should try and earn it like your father said." (Y/N) said
"Ugh, the only dance step I wanna perform is called "Get-me-out-of-this-nuthouse-and-let's-burn-these-memories-from-my-head." Cole spoke annoyed only for Lou to appear suddenly
"What?." Lou looked confused as Cole turns to look at him
"Dad I...
"You...you were going to steal it?." Lou looked heartbroken
"Dad, I didn't mean for you to hear that, but-but I'm glad you did. There's something I've been wanting to tell you. All these heard, I haven't been training to be a singer or dancer. I found something new that I'm really good at. Dad....
Cole uses Spinjtizu as shoes off his GI
"Im a ninja." Cole said as Lou gasped as the others took their hats off
"And the truth is, if we don't steal that Fangblade- I mean blade Cup- there other people that will, bad people. Serpentine. And we need it to save the world. I know how ridiculous this sounds, but I'm proud of who I am, and I want you to be proud of me too." Cole said hopeful
"I can't be proud of any son who thinks stealing is right! And I'm gonna wait around to watch you make a mockery of our family's legacy!." Lou yelled at Cole
"Dad, I-
Before Cole could continue Lou walks away
"That has to hurt." (Y/N) said feeling bad for Cole
"I'm sure he didn't mean that." Kai said
"Maybe if he saw you in action." Jay tried to make Cole feel better
"No, it's- it's okay." Cole said only for them to see a group of poorly disguised Serpentine to walk out of a dressing room
"Treble Makers?." Kai read the name on the door
"Wait a minute. What are they doing here?." Jay asked
"Same reason why we're here." (Y/N) said crossing his arms
They peek behind the curtain to Pythor sitting at the judges table wearing a fake beard
"I can't help it if I offended anyone. My only job will be to tell the truth." Pythor said as the judges looked at him confused
"You don't look anything like your photo." A judge said looking confused at Pythor
"Ah sadly, but the camera adds a few pounds. I'm just happy to have the opportunity to judge this prestigious competition." Pythor chuckles as the actual judge talks from his stomach
"Wait a minute. I'm still here! He swallowed me! He's not a judge! He yelled as the others gasp
"Quiet!... or else I won't let you out." Pythor threatened
"My apologies." The judge said from inside of Pythors stomach
Soon two men brought out the Blade Cup
"The Fangblade!." Pythor smiled
"Uh, yeah. You mean the Blade cup." A judge said correcting Pythor
"Yes he's whatever." Pythor didn't care
The Ninja pull the curtain back
"It looks like we're not the only ones planning to steal the Blade cup. Pythors here." Kai said
"This complicates things." Zane said
"Then I say we make our move. We can't risk losing out again. I say we steal it." Jay said
"We're not gonna steal it." Cole said
"Hey, I think Cole's got a new idea." (Y/N) smirked
"That's right, I do. We're gonna win this competition, but we're gonna do it our way." Cole said much to their confusion
"Our way?." They asked confused
On the stage the Treble Makers sing their song
"My poison lies over the ocean, my poison lies over the sea, my poison lies over the ocean. So bring back my poison to me!." They sang horribly as the judges and the crowd covers their ears, while Pythor, the other snakes and Skulkin clap and cheer, Pythor gives them a 10 while the judges give it a 6, Pythor intimidates them as they change it to a 9, the announcer slides onto the stage
"And last but not least, The Royal Blacksmi- uh hold on. Uh, this just in, there's been a switch, Taking stage next is Spin Harmony!." The announcer yelled as he combed his hair
On the backstage the ninja group up in their GI's
"If we're gonna do this, I want everyone to see who we are." Cole said
"I have butterflies in my stomach!." Zane said as he walked up to them
"Aww, come on. That's just nerves." Jay said
"Bro, he's a robot, he doesn't have nerves." (Y/N) said facing palming slightly
"While (Y/N) is right, I really do have butterflies." Zane said as he opened his panned which released three butterflies
"How did you even get those in there?." (Y/N) asked confused as a butterfly passed him
"Okay, uh, glad he got that out of his system." Jay said looking confused
"Last call for Spin Harmony!." The announcer yelled
"Let's do this, for Cole!." Jay said
"If we can do the Tornado of Creation, we can score perfect 10s out there." Kai said
"I can say anything and it will only go to elevate our teams unity." Zane said as (Y/N) placed his hand in the middle of the group
"All for five?." (Y/N) asked as they placed their hands on top of his
"All for five!." They yelled as they raised their fists
"I'm glad you guys are my friends. Let's do the whip!." Cole yelled as they agreed
"Ninja! Go!."

Back at the judges table, Pythor chuckles slightly
"Well, looks like the last act is no longer preforming. Haha, that means I can give this to the winners-
The announcer appeared on the stage again
"Ladies and gentlemen, Spin Harmony!." He announced as he moved out of the way as the five spot lights light up each ninja

The five began to start a dance, Pythor gets angry and orders the Serpentine to attack them
The ninja creativity attacks the serpentine, using the area for their own advantage, taking the serpentine out of the area

Cole then preforms the Triple Tiger Sashay on three serpentine, Cole imitates a tigers growl as the four gasp
"The Triple Tiger Sashay." Zane spoke amazed as everyone but the serpentine and skulkin cheer
"Oh he did it! The Triple Tiger Sashay! He's danced the impossible!." The announcer spoke amazed
The judges give them a 10 but Pythor gives them a zero, the crowd boos at Pythor, luckily the third judge manages to get his arm free and change the 0 to a 10, which makes the crowd cheer again
"What? Wait. I didn't write that!." Pythor yelled trying to prevent the ninja from winning
"It's a perfect score! Spin Harmony wins the Blade Cup!." The announcer yelled as he passed Cole the trophy who holds it up
"Oh, this is a travesty of epic proportions! I demanded for there to be a recount!." Pythor yelled like a sore loser
Cole searches for his dad in the crowd but is left disappointed as he can't find him, he groans
The ninja walk onto the backstage
"I've never felt more alive." Zane cheered
"Haha! We did it!." Jay said as they began dancing while chuckling
"No, Cole did it. Because of you, Ninjago will sleep safely tonight." Kai praised Cole
"Yeah Cole, not only did you prefect the hardest dance in existence, but you saved the world from utter destruction." (Y/N) praised
"Thanks, but go on and celebrate without me. Winning this doesn't feel the same without my dad being able to—-
Lou walks up behind Cole
"Cole!." Lou smiled
"Dad?." Cole turned around and looked at his dad
"I saw it all, son. I saw it all." Lou smiled as they embraced each other
"You saw me dance?." Cole asked
"More importantly, I saw you fight. Those Serpentine were up to no good, trying to steal the show, and I saw you stand up for what is right. I was wrong. I shouldn't have pushed you so hard to follow in my footsteps. Everyone is born with a special talent inside that's just been waiting to get out. And you were born to be a ninja." Lou said placing his hands on Cole's shoulders
"You're not mad?." Cole asked
"How can I be? My son's a hero!." Lou smiled proudly at Cole
Pythor soon slithered up to them
"Eh, sorry to interrupt your little family reunion, but did you know...
Pythor rips the fake beard off
"It's me, Pythor." Pythor said as (Y/N) looks deadpanned
"Really? I thought it was some other giant purple snake plotting to destroy all of Ninjago." (Y/N) crossed his arms as Pythor glared at him
"You couldn't fool us Pythor!." Cole yelled
"I didn't want to miss out big show stopper." Pythor said as two Constrictai push a create and knocks the stage lights over, Lou screams
"Dad!." Cole yelled jumping in after him, the others cough as Pythor laughs grabbing the Blade Cup escaping
"They took the Fangblade!." Jay yelled
"Those slithery little! When I get my hands on Pythor!."
"Cole!." Kai yelled, the four father around the like, but notice his scythe glowing
"He found his True Potential." Zane said as Cole grunts pushing up the debris with his new powers
"Wha-what? How did we survive that? Son?." Lou looked at Cole confused
"Cole's found his True Potential. His relationship with his father must have been holding him back." Zane figured out
"He's indestructible!." Jay yelled
"He's the true master of earth now." (Y/N) smirked at Cole
Kai pouts on the side
"Ugh, great. So now I really am the only one who hasn't figured out my special power!. Kai complained as Cole returns to normal
"Is everyone alright? What just happened?." Cole asked winded as Lou helped him up
"We're all okay, son." Lou smiled at Cole

Back at Lou's house, the ninja drink tea together
"Oh, man." Kai said
"That was really cool." Jay said
"You found your True Potential." Zane said
"Three down, two to go." (Y/N) smirked
"I guess the scorecard now reads, Pythor two Fangblades, Ninja- zero." Jay said
"Yeah, but all we need is one, and there are still two left to find." Cole said
"Who knows? Maybe when I unlock my True Potential. I'll turn into the destined Green Ninja." Kai smirked as (Y/N) sighed
"Oh brother, are we seriously still on this?." (Y/N) asked annoyed
"The only thing you're destined for is a more inflated ego." Cole said looking at Kai as Lou walked in
"It may not be the trophy, but it sure will look good on my wall." Lou said hanging up a picture of the Ninjas victory
"All right!." Cole smiled
"Excellent." Zane smiled
"Awesome." Kai smiled
"Nice." Jay smiled and chuckled
"Perfection." (Y/N) smiled crossing his arms
"As far as I'm concerned, you're all my family now." Lou smiled
"Yeah." Cole smiled back with the gang
