During the evening time, Hazel still hadn't woken up but Xavier wasn't that worried as the doctor had said she might not wake up that day. He used the opportunity to fulfil the promise he made of searching for Elliot personally, he went with some guards to search round Borreve but they didn't catch sight of him.
After searching till midnight, Xavier returned back to the mansion after giving words yo the guards to search neighboring lands, Bougreve and Rivelle the next day. He went into the room to find Hazel still asleep and he joined her to sleep
The next morning, Hazel was woken by the light coming from the curtains, she opened her eyes slowly, she felt weak and tired and she realised she hadn't eaten lunch since last afternoon and she was very hungry. She helped herself to sit up as she didn't want to disturb Xavier, she quietly stood up and next to the bathroom to freshen up. She was still in the bathroom when Xavier woke up and realised Hazel wasn't by his side
"Hazel" he called softly but no one answered "Hazel" he called again, this time a little bit louder, still no response,he then rushed to the door and left the room. Hazel who heard her name didn't answer, she wanted to tease him this time, she came out, changed her clothes and laid on the bed waiting for him to come back.
Meanwhile, to everyone that morning, hell was let loose as Xavier was shouting and barking at everybody, he looked like he would devour anyone who made a slight mistake as breathing too loud
"Go search for her and stop standing like a statue" he barked at Collins
'Oh Ms Hazel, where are you' Collins thought
After barking some more to the guards, he stormed back to the room angry but stopped by the door seeing the person on the bed
"Good morning Xavier" Hazel said innocently
"—"
"You look angry, anything the matter" she said trying to suppress the laughter threatening to come out.
"Where were you all this time?" He asked
"In the bathroom" she said in a matter of fact tone
"And you didn't hear my voice all this while?"
"I did" she gave a shirt answer
"And you didn't reply"
"I didn't feel like"
He walked closer and climbed the bed hovering above her and giving her a hard glare. He looked so cute to Hazel that she couldn't hold it any longer and laughed out loud.
Xavier was angry that she took this funny and kissed her hard to show his annoyance, the kiss was like a punishment, nothing passionate, all rough with bitings and nibbling, Hazel tried struggling a bit and Xavier tightened his hold on her. He forced his tongue between her awaiting lips still being going on a fast pace that she couldn't keep up with. He abruptly withdrew from the kiss, still angry
"Did I look weird or funny to you" he asked
"Yes" she said still stifling some chuckle "cute by the way"
"Cute!! I'm furious at the moment, you heard me shouting like some dog and you simply didn't answer cause you didn't feel like huh?"
"I'm sorry" she said while blinking, trying to act cute. It calmed him a bit though
"Prove it"
"You've already kissed me" she noted
"Well I wasn't talking about kissing but if that's how you want to prove it, I don't mind" he said while smirking like a fool
"Pervert!!"
"Just for you… I'm waiting for the kiss"
"Go freshen up and I'll give you your kiss"
"Wait here for me before going to the dining" he warned
"Okay"
The moment he stepped into the bathroom, Hazel left to the dining not minding his warning. At the dining, it was just Hazel and Mrs Decron, there was this awkward silence as they ate and Hazel hoped for Xavier to come.
It took a little while before Xavier came in,he narrowed his eyes as he sighted Hazel sitting, he went and sat facing Hazel and signalling her for his kiss.
"Not here, your step mum is here" she whispered
"You caused it, why did you leave" he whispered back
"I was hungry, couldn't wait"
"You always find excuses not to give me a kiss"
"And you find excuses to give me one"
Mrs Decron watched as they whispered between themselves before butting in
"Wasn't she the reason, you almost pulled down the walls of this mansion just some minutes ago"
"If I hadn't found her, I would have pulled it down"
"You both irritate me"
"You're very much welcome to leave also"
"She'll be the one to leave not me"
"Then you'll have to adapt to irritation"
He continued eating while Hazel kept a low profile on her seat. Xavier finished his breakfast early and left to the courtroom to attend to some meetings leaving Hazel and Mrs Decron alone, this time Hazel hurried up to leave and when she got up
"Do you think you're safe here" Mrs Decron said and made Hazel look at her "you are not, I'll make sure I destroy your life here or haven't you heard of mothers in-law maltreating daughter in-law , I'm sure you don't want to experience that"
"But ma'am, Ms Dorin is his half sister, he can't marry her" she said stressing the 'Ms' since she was no longer a 'Lady'
"That's none of your business, just go back to where ever you came from, remember, Xavier is leaving for a few days. And whose fault is it that my daughter is no longer a Lady" she shouted and left
'I never even said anything that day' Hazel thought referring to the day Dorin slapped Xavier 'How's that my fault'
She left the dining and went to Xavier's painting room where she saw relles in his cage, she remembered Elliot
"Where are you Elliot or have they found you" she murmured to herself "I really need you here when Xavier go away to Rivelle" she continued
