(Paon's pov)

5 months before

"Paon. Wake up! you're going to be late for school!" Duusu, said while buzzing around me, her holder. I groaned. "Duusu go back to sleep. It's too early for this."

I heard the little blue kwami groan and mutter something about how I was always so hard to wake up. I ignored her and rolled over. School could wait for a little while longer.

BEEP BEEP BEEP.

"Stupid alarm clock." I snapped. I reached over to silence the damn thing when I realized it wasn't on my stand! I jumped up. I couldn't let my mother overhear it or else-

Just then I spotted Duusu sitting on the alarm clock next to my desk. "Duusu, shut that off!" I hissed. She grinned at me and clicked the off button. "See, you're awake now."

"I am going to strangle you." I replied.

Duusu flew into my bed and disappeared. "I have half a mind not to bring you with me." I said. Of course I got no response. She was agitated with me. I finished getting ready and jumped out the window. There was no need to wake up my mother if I could help it.

Duusu flew out the window and jumped into my backpack. "Oh so you do want to go after all?" I commented. "Well- what if a villian were to attack? I can't not be there, you know." She replied, giving me a cheeky smile. I smiled slyly. "Sure, sure. That's definitely your only reason for going." In response, Dussu zipped up my backpack pocket, meaning that our conversation was over.

Sliding off the roof, I jumped onto the neighbor's trampoline, and front flipped onto the lawn. "Whew, I've gotten better at that." I smiled to myself. "Yeah. you did." Duusu agreed.

I hadn't even noticed that she had reopened my zipper. "You sly fox." I said, grinning. "I'm not a fox, I'm a peacock kwami." She replied, confused. I rolled my eyes in amusement. "I meant it metaphorically." Dussu nodded and rezipped my backpack. "Guess you're done talking to me?" I asked. She unzipped the pocket and replied, "You're already at school. You wouldn't want people to know who you are right?"

"Oh wow, that was a faster walk than usual." I remarked.

"Well that's because you spent most of your time trying to insult me." My kwami replied, before rezipping the pocket. "Fair enough." I agreed, walking into the school.

I made it about halfway to my locker before being stopped by Chloe. "Oh great, what do you want?" I snapped. "Did anyone ever tell you how ugly that outfit looks?" She questioned.

"Did anyone ever tell you to mind your own business? If not, you should learn to do it, as it might actually be beneficial to you seeing how all you do is use your power to make others do your bidding." I replied.

She stared at me dumbfounded as if she couldn't believe what I had just said. I took this as my chance and left.

I reached my locker just as the bell rang. "Lovely, now I'm late." I thought to myself. Quickly grabbing my books, I took off down the hall towards my class. I arrived just as the tardy bell rang. "Glad you could join us, miss." The substitute said, nodding towards me. Slightly embarrassed, I sat down in the second row alone.

"Alright students, now that everyone is seated, it's time to discuss your first project. Most of the class groaned. We had all forgotten about this project, well all of us except for Max of course.

"Uh Miss Sage, what project do you happen to be talking about?" Nino asked. Several students chuckled but were silenced by a look from the sub. "Your teacher left instructions for 3 people to team up and make a model of and interview one of Paris's superheros to honor them and show them how grateful we are to them."

"Oh this will be easy." I thought to myself. I already knew who all of Paris's heroes were under the mask after all-

"And if you are a hero, you are not allowed to interview yourself." The substitute teacher added. The class snickered as we watched Chloe dramatically faint. "I think we all knew who Chloe was going to try and interview." Alya said with a laugh.

Even the sub cracked a smile. "You may now turn your history books to page 224." This time I joined the rest of the class in groaning. History was definitely not my strong point.

Just then, an akuma alert went off!

"Everyone evacuate as quickly as you can!" The sub called out. I had to get away quickly so that I could transform, but there were so many people trying to get out that I got shoved into a wall.

I was grabbed by Felix.

"Paon, come on. We have to go!" He led or more like dragged me out the door towards the evacuation area.

I watched Catnoir and Ladybug swoop in to save the day. "They might need help." I thought. "Uh Paon? Unless you want the akumatized person to squash you, you might want to run." Felix commented.

"Oh- uh right." I replied, following Felix out the door. "Guess this is one rescue that I won't participate in." I told myself. When I looked up, I saw ladybug and catnoir were both waving at me, looking extremely crazy. I was pretty sure that even the akumatized villain was confused on what the hell they were doing.

"What the heck are they even doing?" Felix asked.

I shrugged. "I have no idea." Felix watched them for a second longer before turning to me. "It seems like they're signaling to you Paon." He said, rather suspiciously. I nervously smiled. "Uh, that's weird. Let's go!" I cried, pulling him into the safe room.

"Ladybug and Catnoir, I am going to kill you both for almost blowing my cover." I hissed under my breath.

Soon the akumatized villain was defeated and the miraculous ladybugs were fixing everything back up. "I think it's safe to go out now." Felix commented. I nodded and cracked open the door.

"Time to get back to class, I guess." I muttered. Felix smiled and walked past me.

"You might want to hurry Paon. You can't be late two times in a row." Felix smirked, walking off. I ran past him. "Only if you can keep up with me."
