The hidden people of the gifted

Chapter 6

The morning came and so did the old lady Miles was already up "here's the kids that said he knows you oh and the girl"

The grandma said I looked up "Zack!" I exclaimed to see the familiar brown wolf ears "Elysia!" Zack exclaimed "you're alive Miles as well!" "You make it sound like it's a miracle" Miles grunted "where's Jasper?" Silence fell among us "Zack?" He didn't meet my gaze "what happened to Jasper?" "A gifted person attacked" Zack whispered "he shot something at Jasper that made him go crazy and he attacked us then" "Then he killed himself" Aurora finished I sat there trying to figure everything out then I remembered "The control chips!" I said aloud "Shit I forgot!" Miles exclaimed "what's the control chips?" Zack asked

'this isn't something a six year old should be hearing'

I sighed "it's nothing important so I'm guessing that's how you ended up here right?" "Yea after that fainted and woke up here then we met the village leader and everyone here is nice oh and then I saw when they brought you in and told them that was our friend we were looking for" Zack exclaimed happily seeming to forget Jasper "nice" I smiled patting his head best to change the subject  the old lady seemed to watch with interest "I have some questions for the two of you actually the village leader does so follow me"

'The village leader maybe I could figure something out about mum and dad!' I thought 'no that comes later first focus on the task at hand find a safe place for Zack say good bye to the rest and hide somewhere far away lead them humans in the opposite direction'

I walked out of the weird tree house now that I was looking at it from the outside I realised there was a hole at the bottom of the tree that lead underground and a hole in the middle or in other words the trunk of the tree to think there was such a big tree in the world that around fifty people could fit inside! This definitely was built by a gifted person or person's

The village was wide I got a pretty good view since I was up high there were wooden walls for defence and people sat on the top staring out into the other side of the wall as if waiting for the humans to attack

Hugs and tree houses as well as inside the trunks it was amazing like mum said kids around the age of Zack were running around playing games as people used there gifts freely and talking to one another like they didn't have a care in the world!

'So this is the place mum talked so fondly of' I thought with a small smile 'I can see why now'

I followed the old lady to a hut it seemed to small to be a place for the leader but who knew "here are some change if cloths thank Ella's daughter who owns a cloths shop for it later" the old lady said chucking the bag she had been holding to me "and you take this one" the old lady pointed to Zack "yes mam!" He said with a wide smile "follow me Miles!" As the two of them headed to a separate hut I walked in it was a small room with a rectangular shaped mirror in the corner

I looked myself in the mirror 'gah my hairs a mess!' I thought angrily thankfully there was a hair brush and Aurora had told me there was a place to wash up in the back.

I looked in the mirror once I was done the hot pink cotton jumper seemed to match my eye's and the black pants matched my hair I came out "I knew it would match!" Aurora smiled widely "it looks great on you" "I'm just glad to be out of that ripped dress" I sighed Miles came back wearing a matching grey hoodie and pants "it's been a while since I wore comfortable cloths" Miles said looking at his sleeves  "it's been seven years for me" I chuckled then we seemed to walk in another direction the girl what was her name... ah that's right Kayla

She seemed to join us we stopped at a huge hut there were people outside and heading inside
"are these the kids?" Said a tall man with blond hair
"yes they are Lux" rasped the old lady "well you're all just in time" he nodded as we entered there was a huge table stretching from one side of the room to the other... I stared at it shocked "just take a seat over there" she pointed to one corner of the table as I sat down Zacks at next to me with a smile on his face Miles next to Zack and Aurora next to Miles

"Saber is here!" Demanded a voice

I froze 'Saber!? Mothers brother!?!'
