Chapter 4: Echoes of Despair

The moon's soft glow spilled into Jimin's room, casting long shadows across the floor as he sat alone, lost in the swirling depths of his thoughts. The day's torment at the hands of Jungkook and his gang weighed heavily on him, leaving him feeling battered and defeated.

Just as Jimin thought he couldn't bear the weight of his despair any longer, there came a gentle knock on his door. Startled, he lifted his head, his heart skipping a beat as he wondered who could be seeking him out at this hour.

"Come in," Jimin called out, his voice barely above a whisper.

The door creaked open, revealing the concerned face of his friend Taehyung. Despite the late hour, Taehyung's eyes were bright with determination, his usual easygoing demeanor replaced by an aura of quiet strength.

"Hey, Jimin," Taehyung said softly, stepping into the room and closing the door behind him. "I heard about what happened today. Are you okay?"

Jimin's throat tightened at the concern in Taehyung's voice, the dam he had built around his emotions threatening to burst. He shook his head, unable to find the words to express the turmoil raging within him.

Taehyung crossed the room in a few quick strides, pulling Jimin into a tight embrace. "It's okay," he murmured, his voice gentle as he held Jimin close. "You don't have to go through this alone."

For a long moment, Jimin simply clung to Taehyung, his tears soaking into the fabric of his friend's shirt as he let himself be comforted. It was a rare moment of vulnerability for Jimin, who had spent so long hiding his pain from the world, and yet somehow, it felt like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders.

As they pulled apart, Taehyung took a seat beside Jimin on the bed, his expression one of unwavering support. "Listen," he said quietly, his voice steady. "You don't deserve to be treated like this. No one does. You're stronger than you know, Jimin. And you have people who care about you, who want to help you through this."

Jimin nodded, his heart swelling with gratitude for Taehyung's words of encouragement. For the first time in what felt like an eternity, he allowed himself to believe that there might be a way out of the darkness that had consumed him for so long.

And as they sat there in the quiet solitude of Jimin's room, the weight of their shared sorrow hanging heavy in the air, Jimin couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope ignite within him—a whisper of a promise that maybe, just maybe, he wasn't as alone as he had always believed.

But for now, all he could do was hold onto that fragile thread of hope, and pray that one day, it would lead him out of the darkness and into the light.
