LEAHS POV:

It's the very first day of the semester- and I already have homework from four of my six classes. And I haven't even gone to my other two!!

I walk down the hallway, my blonde hair, pulled up into a braid, swayed. My Panda Dunks, matching with my white sweatpants and black crop top, made it so I tried to not stand out.

I take a left at the next hallway, turning and walking a bit farther down. I look at all the door numbers, and finally 113 comes into sight.

I step through the door, and smell a faint scent of chemicals. Clorox to be exact.

I take a seat in a rather high chair, and set my bag down onto the ground.

'First day in Chemistry and I already hate it.' I mumble, remembering my high school chemistry class. The amount of stupid concoctions we had created is astounding.

I grab out a notebook, pen and a textbook. I wait for more students to fill the classroom. I turn to look and see a familiar face.

I believe his name is James. He was rather short, around 5'7, his dark brown hair flopped over his black glasses.

He beelined straight to the seat next to me. 'Greetings, Leah.' He looked at me. 'Mind if I accompany you?' He asked, rather formally.

I nod. 'What's with being so formal?' I ask, my eyebrow quirked above my left eye.

He sighs. 'God damn poetry class must've gotten to me.' He lets out a depressive chuckle.

I laugh with him, my eyes lighting up. He seemed like an incredibly intelligent man if I do say so myself. Like around a straight A student. I would be surprised if he ever got below.

'Well, language arts has always made everyone more.. you know.' I smile.

He nods in response, taking out a pencil, textbook and notebook as well.

'Good morning, everyone, and welcome to Chemistry 101! I'm thrilled to see each and every one of you here today, embarking on this exciting journey into the world of chemistry.' The Professor finally speaks.

'First and foremost, let me assure you that while chemistry may seem daunting at times, it's a fascinating subject that holds the key to understanding the very fabric of our universe. Whether you're here because it's a requirement, a passion, or simply out of curiosity, I'm committed to making this experience as enriching and rewarding as possible for each of you.' He adds.

'Throughout this semester, we'll delve into the fundamental principles of matter, its properties, and the transformations it undergoes. From the structure of atoms to the intricacies of chemical reactions, we'll explore how chemistry shapes the world around us.' The class nods in unison to his words.

'But before we dive into the nitty-gritty of molecules and equations, I want to emphasize something crucial: curiosity. Chemistry is all about asking questions, seeking answers, and pushing the boundaries of our understanding. So, I encourage each of you to approach this course with an open mind and a willingness to explore.'

'Which probably means a lot of homework.' I mutter to James, unsure if I would actually be able to accomplish all the homework he would be seemingly assigning to us.

'I'm here to support you every step of the way. Whether you're struggling with a concept, curious about a phenomenon, or just need a bit of guidance, my door is always open. Chemistry is a collaborative endeavor, and together, we'll navigate this fascinating terrain.'

James nods. 'Yeah- lots of homework. Seems like a hard class as well- if he offers help.'

'Lastly, remember that learning is not just about memorizing facts and figures; it's about developing critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and a deeper appreciation for the world around us. So, let's embark on this journey together, with enthusiasm, determination, and a sense of wonder.' Professor Harper spoke.

'I'm excited to embark on this journey with each of you, and I have no doubt that together, we'll uncover the mysteries of the chemical world and emerge with a newfound appreciation for the wonders of chemistry. So, let's roll up our sleeves, grab our lab coats, and get ready for an unforgettable semester!'

The class claps and the professor gets right to teaching.

'This is going to be a long, exhausting semester.' I huff, not ecstatic at all.
