SARANG || LEE CHAN

✯ CHAPTER 11 ✯

Chan was lying on the bed while thinking about the events which happened yesterday. He was frustrated and he didn't know whom to share it with. He was missing Yn so much but he didn't text her from yesterday, after the dinner

FLASHBACK

Yeon smiled and said "Chan your getting married with Park Rena" Chan's eye widened and he stood up with a jerk making the poor girl next to him flinch "What the hell" he shouted "Manners young man" his father said sternly making him silent and he took a seat

"Dad, I am the youngest. Still Woozi hyung and Dokyeom hyung didn't marry. Why would I marry before them?" He asked as uneasy tension was building inside him.

"Woozi and Dokyeom had started their own business under Lee's and now you're the actual Heir of the Lee's and you should marry in order to sit on that place. By marrying Rena we can collaborate with their company and we both can be huge success" Yeon explained his son as Chan shook his head

"You can collaborate with the company, then why the hell are you collaborating with my life" he asked making his father glare at him. Chan immediately shut his mouth scared of his father's wrath

"Me and Yeon had a dream to marry our children together. And Rena is perfect for you and she will take good care of you. You both are made for each other" Mr Park explained as Chan sighed. He was about to speak but he heard a cough sound and turned towards his uncle

Rang signalled a small no and Chan immediately kept quiet. "You both can exchange the rings, so we can be sure you're engaged. Don't worry marriage won't happen soon. It will happen after six months" Yeon declared making his son's heart break

He was forced to stand up and slide the ring on her finger and gazed towards the girl. She was smiling and blushing at the same time but Chan had no expression on his face and he forced a smile towards her. She also slid the ring on his finger as everyone clapped to them

"I know this engagement is early to you, but we did it to ensure your loyalty towards each other until the marriage. And don't worry, this engagement will be private and we will announce it in the media before a month of marriage" Yeon said making everyone nod their head

Everyone in the restaurant had different emotions on them. Yeon, Mr and Mrs Park and Rena were happy. Woozi and Dokyeom along with the two ladies were confused but the ladies had a small idea of his uneasiness. Rang didn't like this marriage a bit. Heesung was confused too but he decided to keep quiet as he knew nobody would listen to him as he was the youngest

They forced Chan and Rena to talk with each other for sometime before both the families parted their ways.
Chan stood at the balcony of the restaurant while watching the view in front of him by crossing his hands on the railings as the girl next to him nervously fiddled her fingers

"I'll take good care of you, please give me a chance" the girl finally spoke making Chan sigh
"This is so sudden and please ignore my reaction if it hurted you" he said as the girl nodded her head

Chan's mind went towards Yn and he felt a pang in his heart. He didn't know why it was hurting him so much. He realised that he had fallen in love with her. But now he was helpless and they were outside. He couldn't create a scene and bring a bad name to his family

The girl was about to speak but he decided to beat her "I think we should go" as she nodded her head. They both saw that their families had stood up and his father and Mr Park gave a last hug and they exited the restaurant

Chan rode his bike towards the small soju shop and decided to get wasted. He then called his friends and told them the whole story which made them watch their friend in pity. But they assured them that everything will be alright and finally dropped him to his home

END OF FLASHBACK

Chan sighed and gazed at his ring finger. Just then he heard a knock and he said a small 'Come in' allowing that person inside

He saw his uncle in his casual clothes and he sat on his bed "Why are you looking like a boiled potato? Go wash yourself. We both are going out" he declared as Chan furrowed his brows

"Where to?" Chan asked as Rang smirked and answered "Long drive"
Chan nodded his head and went towards his washroom to wash up as Rang also exited his room to get ready

Rang was his another best friend more than uncle who supported him in everything. He was the one who taught Chan to ride a bike. He was so supportive towards Chan more than his father and would always protect him from his father's nagging

Heesung also received the same attention from his father and sometimes he would join the duo in the long drive
But today Rang decided to take only Chan to make the lad clear his mind

They both got ready and met at their garage. Chan wore his gloves and watched his uncle already sitting on his favourite bike while looking like a racer. He wore his helmet and they both exited the gate

They both went into the familiar highway and sped up their bike. The wind blew past them and they overtook many vehicles along their way. They both accelerated more when the road was less crowded and sped up towards the location

Then they reached their favorite spot which was a small hill. They both parked their bikes and removed their helmets
They both walked for a few minutes until they reached the top.

There were some benches and the place was empty. They both sat there and saw the view of Seoul in front of them. This was the usual spot where Chan used to come with his friends or his uncle along with Heesung

"Who is she?" Rang asked making Chan frown "Who is who?" He asked being confused making Rang roll his eyes "Who is the girl you have been liking to dislike this marriage" he asked making Chan quiet for a few moments then he decided to speak "Her name is Yn and she studies in Seoul University"

"Did you ask her out?" Rang asked as Chan shook his head "I first became her friend. She is different and she's a bit innocent" Chan answered and a small smile made his lips thinking about her

"So she is just like your aunt?" Rang asked as Chan nodded his head. "I also had a hard time marrying Yeohee" Rang said and gazed at the sky

"Yeohee was from a normal family unlike us and your grandfather was hard to convince. But still I stood for my love and now we are happy and everyone in our family accepted her" Rang said making Chan nod his head

"Yn is also from a normal family unlike us, so it will be hard to convince dad. Even if her life is different from mine, I feel happy whenever I am with her" Chan confessed making Rang smile

"Don't give up buddy. I know you will convince that grumpy man. Or else we will hang him upside down until he accepts" Rang joked making him laugh and he also chuckled along with him

"It's getting late. Let's eat somewhere and go home" Rang said making Chan nod his head and they both walked down the hill and rode their bike back to their home
