Chapter 15: Sun before storm

''Guess who just walked in.''

Those words on the screen gave me shivers. Jungkook did this on purpose. He wanted to cause me chills and play with me because he knew the only person who could walk into their base was the person I despised the most. Jungkook doesn't text me for fun. He made me feel exactly the way he wanted.

''Bad news?'' Daniel asked after he probably had seen me eyeing my phone and murmuring something he couldn't quite catch. ''Don't tell me-''

''Yeah,'' I cut him. ''She is there, and I can't do shit about it.''

''I don't seem to know why you care,'' Daniel started, and I glanced at him. ''What I mean is, you two have broken up. You have no relationship, and you two aren't even real friends. So why care if she is there? Namjoon is free meat.''

Daniel is right. Why do I care? Is this one of those clichés where a person who used to love someone cares about them after all when they see them with someone else? I never believed in something like that. But why else would I care that Karina is probably sucking his face off as we speak?

In this case, I would say I care because I saw how she manipulated, led him, and hurt him by leaving without saying anything. I don't want her to do the same things to him again, just when he has forgotten about her and moved on. I'm not saying this because I want to get back together with him, nor that he shouldn't date anyone. I'm saying this as an old friend who doesn't want to see them get hurt.

''He is just too easy to fool,'' I replied to Daniel. He chuckled and shook his head.

''Y/n!'' I heard from the distance, and it was Jisoo running to me along with the others. ''I just got a text from Jin saying that Karina and her friends just entered their base, and Karina went to talk with Namjoon alone!''

''Okay, first of all, I'm going to ignore the fact that you're texting with Jin, and second of all, I don't care,'' I said. They all looked at each other, confusion written on their faces.

''Why don't we care?'' Lisa asked.

''Why would I give them the joy of going there slamming doors to start a fight? That is what they want by sending those texts. They want drama, and I'm not giving them that,'' I said.

The girls nodded, understanding what I was getting at with this. What I said wasn't a joke. They want to create an idea for us that they are there with them and we are not. They want us to come, and cause drama and controversy, which they like. They probably dreamed of a catfight in front of them.

However, they can be sure that this will not stop there. We might not rush there, slamming the doors this second, but we will visit their place or even bring it up. I don't want to see Karina's face again today.

''I think we should go,'' I told the girls and teased Daniel until he laughed.

''Okay, I'll drop you guys home. I'll get my coat,'' he replied and got up, walking towards his party, and I was left waiting for him with the girls.

''What were you two talking about?'' Rosé asked. I gathered my things and got up, swaying slightly from the alcohol.

''We just talked about everything that happened tonight, nothing more,'' I replied to Rosé. ''Daniel knows everything and understands. He just wanted to be caring and stop me from drinking myself to death. He's cute when he's caring, but at the same time, he knows that I can take care of myself.''
