This is a fanfiction of Disney Pixar's 'WALL-E,' set around 95 years after the end of the movie. Enjoy!

The day Destiny awoke, she vowed to take the world by storm.

For the time being, though, she found herself confined to a flimsy bed in a startlingly bright hospital room.

The girl rubbed her eyes, and looked around. What seemed like hundreds of IV machines, heart rate monitors, and the solid 'beep' of status reports from automatic holo-screens surrounded her bedside. An unexpected wave of nausea hit her, and she winced in pain.

"What happened?" the girl whispered. She must've gotten herself into a major kerfuffle—to say the least.

"Hi there," she tried her best to shout for help. "I'm Destiny McCrea. Could someone explain why I'm here, and what the hell is up with all these machines?"

Fortunately, a small probe droid came to her rescue.

EVE needed to recharge her batteries.

WALL-E had promised her a spa day, but he had yet to fulfill that promise. For now, she had to patrol this desolated hallway until the sun set—then she could retire for the night. Nobody ever said a robot's job was easy. Though it seemed insignificant, EVE knew her role held extreme importance. The late Captain of the Axiom had trusted her with this duty. She didn't particularly enjoy what President Kriz was doing to Paradise, so it seemed like this hallway was offering her protection from the outside world.

EVE's sensors picked up a signal—a sound coming from Room A113. Her processors increased the volume of the shout as she raced toward it.

"I'm Destiny McCrea," the voice was hoarse, like it hadn't been used for years. "Could someone explain why I'm here, and what the hell is up with all these machines?"

EVE's holographic eyes lit up in excitement. Destiny was awake. She was alive!

EVE wished she could travel faster down the long, lonely hallway.

Destiny could see the robot behind all the machines. She waved apprehensively, and tried to move her face muscles to resemble a smile. "How are ya?"

The robot blinked at her. Its bright blue eyes widened in delight. "EVE," it introduced itself.

"I'm Destiny." The girl in the hospital bed waved at EVE.

EVE the robot stuck out a metallic white arm that hovered in the air, detached from its equally metallic body and head. Destiny hesitantly reached out a hand. She flexed her fingers—they seemed to have not been used in a long time. Slowly, the girl rested her palm onto EVE's 'hand.'

Destiny looked expectantly into those bright blue eyes—

A flash of brilliant cerulean blinded Destiny and EVE.

Can you hear me? Asked a kind woman's voice.

Destiny looked around the hospital room confusedly, then looked at the robot—EVE. "Are you...talking to me?"

To put it simply, EVE said, Yes. My system processor tells me that an unexpected bioelectric shock has connected my interface to your mind.
