~mori’s pov~

Birds sat in the branches as the sun rose above the trees. My eyes fluttered open to feel a warmth surrounding my body. I couldn’t help but snuggle closer.

As I did I heard a giggle and I looked up to see the gray headed shinobi, Kakashi Hatake.

“Ahhh!” I screamed as I pushed away from him and ended up on the floor, “What the hell? Explain.” I pointed to him.

“Well last night when we were laying in bed it seemed you had a nightmare and I couldn’t figure out how to help you so I wrapped my arms around you. Soon you calmed down so I just held you the rest of the night.” Kakashi simply explained.

“Oh.” I said as I got up, “Sorry about that.”

“No worries. You made a great heater.” He joked.

I let out a small giggle, “Well we should get going.”

“Yes we should.” He replied and soon we were off.

~third person~

The two shinobi left the inn and headed for the leaf and after 3 long days they made it.

-kakashi’s pov-

“Finally.” Mori said as we approached the gates.
I chuckled, “Is it really that bad being with me?”

Her head immediately turned to face me, “What? No no of course not. I just miss my bed.”

We just laugh and walk into the video.

“Well I am going to report to Lady Tsuande. You can go home.” I tell Mori.

“Okay. Bye Kakashi.” She waves and then disappears.

I wave back and make my way towards Tsunade’s office.

Soon I arrive and knock.

“Come in.” Lady Tsunade calls.

“Hello.” I say as I walk inside, closing the door behind me.

“Where is Mori?” Tsunade asked, looking around.

I take a seat, “I told her to go home.”

“I see…* She nods and grabs a paper. “How was the mission? I can see you are back early.”

“It went great. Mori took out the group of bandits without my help.” I replied.

Tsunade’s face seemed a bit surprised, “Wow… well maybe I should send you two on harder missions.”

I just nod, not sure how to respond.

Soon Lady Tsunade dismisses me and I head out of her office and into the busy streets of Konoha.

A strong breeze ruffles my hair as I step into the crowd of people lined up at the shops and restaurants of the leaf.

As I walk past the dango shop I hear a loud voice call out to me, “Kakashi my eternal rival!”

Oh no…

~mori’s pov~

Kakashi told me to go home but I didn’t feel like it so instead of going home I decided to walk around the streets.

I felt quite hungry so I stopped by the dango shop and got myself some dango to snack on.

As I sat down by a nearby bench enjoying my food, I could hear a booming voice stick out from the crowd.

“Kakashi, my eternal rival!” The person called out.

My eyes darted around until I landed on Kakashi and Gai.

I couldn’t help but nose around, so I got up and went into a nearby tree.

“Oh come on Kakashi we need to do a new battle so I can prove I am mightier than you!” An enthusiastic Gai shouted.

“For the last time Gai I said I don’t want to battle.” A very irritated Kakashi said.

“Are you scared to lose?!”

“No I am not. I would beat you fair and square.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

“Then prove it. With a game of… hopscotch!”

“Hopscotch?”

“Yes, it will test our skill of balance and concentration!”

Kakashi let out a long sigh, “Fine.”

“Yes! You will lose Hatake!”

At this point I was dying trying to hold in my laughter.

The two leaf ninja made their way to an empty roof where Gai took a piece of chalk and wrote out different boxes with numbers from 1-50.

I just hid on top of another roof closely watching the two.

Gai finished the layout and they decide to see who goes first.

“Lets flip a coin!” Gai insisted.

Kakashi looked up from his book, “Okay, but I am tails.”

“If I lose I will do 5,000 situps everyday for the next week!”

“Gai-”

“Don’t worry Kakashi, it is only 5,000 more than my original 7,000!”

12,000 sit ups! He is insane! I thought as I watched Gai take a coin from his kunai pouch.

The coin flew in the air before landing on the back of Gai’s hand. Heads

“I guess I am first then!” Gai exclaimed and walked up to the start of the first box and he balanced on one hand and began to jump.

He would switch legs and as he reached the end he did the last 10 on his right arm!

“Easy!” He yelled and stood by Kakashi and patted his shoulder, “Your turn!”

Kakashi just sighed and walked up the box with his book in hand. He began to jump on the boxes with his right leg.

As he went to switch the wind picked up and sent his book out of his hand. His eyes widened and he went to reach for it causing him to stumble and step outside of the box.

I quickly jumped up from where I was and grabbed his book.

Kakashi regained his balance and looked at me, “Wha-”

“Congratulations Gai you win!” I exclaimed and handed Kakashi his book.
