It was four am. Jay was still awake, and he wasn't getting comfortable on the couch. So, he decided to go to the district.
Jay got up, and grabbed his jacket, and left the apartment.
Soon. Jay was walking into the bullpen, and he noticed Adam.
"Hey!" Adam chirped.
Jay smiled, and walked to his desk.
"This a new thing now? You coming into work early, without Erin?" Adam asked.
Jay laughed softly, and answered.
"No. I couldn't sleep. Erin's dead to the world..." Jay laughed.
Adam giggled, and spoke.
"Classic Erin!" Adam commented.
Jay nodded, and looked through some files.
"All units in the 21st District. Officers in need of assistance. 1998 West Wolcott Avenue." Dispatch crackled.
Jay looked at Adam, and spoke.
"Wanna take it?" Jay wondered.
Adam nodded, and stood up.
"This is Detective Jay Halstead. Badge Number: 51163. Show me in for OT. I'm responding to a call at 1998 West Wolcott. be advised. 5021 Ida. Will also be on scene. We're plainclothes officers." Jay explained.
Adam and Jay ran downstairs, and got into Jay's truck.
As Jay drove. Adam spoke.
"Wait. Was the address 1998 West Walcott?" Adam asked.
Jay confirmed, and continued driving.
"Oh. Man! That's the smell house." Adam commented.
Jay looked at Adam, and spoke.
"So, this is a prank call?" Jay looked ahead of him.
Adam shrugged, and got out of the truck.
Jay parked up, and followed Adam into the house.
"Hey. Detective Halstead and Ruzek. What's going on?" Adam asked.
Anna looked up from the ground, where she puked.
"Yeah. It stinks in there. Be warned..." Anna prewarned.
Jay and Adam nodded, and walked towards the front door.
"Ready?" Jay whispered.
Adam pulled out his gun, and nodded.
Jay opened the door, and walked inside.
The house had a rancid smell. Which made Jay gag.
"God..." Jay gagged.
Adam walked towards the smell, and noticed a dead child.
"Jay!" Adam called.
Jay walked over, and noticed the child.
"Damn!" Jay sighed.
Jay crouched down, and sighed.
"You know him?" Adam questioned.
Jay nodded, and spoke.
"He's one of my child cases. Mom murdered in front of him. He was staying with his uncle...." Jay explained.
Adam squeezed Jay's shoulder, and noticed something.
