Lunchtime finally rolled around, and I grabbed my book, 'All the Bright Places', from my locker. Holding my favorite banana milk, I headed to the cafeteria, aiming for a quiet corner to enjoy my lunch. Seated and settled, I got lost in the heartwarming world of Finch and Violet, who had finally discovered love within the pages.

Reading and sipping my milk, I found myself genuinely blushing at the cute scenes. Unbeknownst to me, a few guys were staring, and I couldn't help but giggle when I reached the part where Finch and Violet shared a kiss. Completely absorbed, I was smiling like an absolute goof. Passersby might've thought I was a bit peculiar, but I was simply lost in the delightful story.

As I was immersed in giggles, three guys abruptly took seats in front of me. Looking up, my expression shifted from amusement to disgust as I realized they were my soon-to-be stepbrothers. Despite my disagreement with my mom's impending marriage, I knew she wouldn't heed my objections and would go ahead with her plans.

The guys were glaring at me, and I found their presence utterly annoying. They had disrupted my peaceful reading time, and I couldn't help but feel irritated by the sudden intrusion of these three individuals who seemed like nothing but a trio of bothersome idiots.

I met their intrusion with a cold expression and a curt "Yes?" Taehyung couldn't help but scoff at my perceived rudeness.

Taehyung: "How rude."

Jimin: "Don't mind him. By the way, how are you, baby girl, and how's your hand?"

Jungkook, with a chuckle, mentioned his amusement at the dinner drama.

Jungkook: "Hyung, her drama at dinner was amazing. I loved it."

Growing increasingly irritated, I snapped, "I'm not your baby girl, and I'm really not in the mood to talk. Please leave."

Jimin, adopting an authoritative tone, warned, "Stay in your limits, baby girl; you're messing with the wrong guys."

Taehyung smirked and chuckled.

Taehyung: "Hyung, don't scare her. She's still a teenager; she might end up crying."

Jungkook: "Hyung, let's go back to our university. I have my next lecture in 10 minutes."

With that, they stood up and left, their departure marked by lingering smirks. As I observed their exit, I couldn't help but scoff at the audacity of university students infiltrating our high school cafeteria.

While thinking about the peculiar dynamics at play, the bell rang, signaling the end of the lunch break.

I retrieved my bag from the locker, contemplating the lingering sense of annoyance as I made my way back to class.

I settled into my seat and watched as the teacher entered the class, carrying a stack of graded papers. She announced, "Students, I've graded your tests. I'll be returning them to you. Please take note of your mistakes, and those who scored less, make corrections. Surprisingly, only one student got full marks, and I didn't even expected it from that student." The class erupted into chants of a guy's name, assuming it was Han Seojun, known as the smartest student.

Teacher: "No, it's a girl."

The revelation left the whole class in shock, trying to figure out who the mystery girl was. I remained indifferent, my introverted nature making me dislike the attention, even though my classmates were generally nice. The teacher proceeded to distribute the checked tests and called my name. Annoyed, I stood up and went to collect my paper.

Teacher: "Class, please clap for Y/N. She's the only one who got full marks. Learn something from her, even though it was only her second day, and without any preparation, she managed to score perfectly."

I felt a bit shy, as attention was not my forte. The teacher smiled at me and inquired, "Y/N, how did you manage to get a perfect score?" Shyly, I replied, "It's just math, my favorite subject, that's all." The teacher nodded and returned to her position. I couldn't help but despise the unwanted attention.

After school, I returned home, changed into something comfortable.

I decided to cook some ramen to quell my hunger, having skipped breakfast and only consumed banana milk during lunch. Mom was still not home, but I didn't care. I cooked and ate, then washed the dishes before retreating to my room.

Feeling a sense of responsibility, I decided to study for three hours. After putting my books back into my bag, I heard the main door opening, signaling mom's return. As she entered my room, she gave me a death glare - punishment time. She angrily instructed, "Come here." I walked towards her, and she slapped me so hard that I fell to the floor. Strangely, I wasn't mad; I was accustomed to it.

Mom yelled, "Why the hell did you create a scene at dinner? You're such an attention seeker. I'm getting married, and I don't care about your opinion. You have to adjust with your brothers because it's your problem, not mine." She then left my room.

I stood up, glanced at the mirror, and saw the slap mark on my cheek. Strangely, I didn't cry; maybe I had forgotten how to.
