At dawn, Chen's ferry arrives at an island.
"Look at that."
"Awesome."
Karlof walks up "Let me see." He pushes Kai to get a better view "Do you mind?" Kai says irritated and they get into a fighting pose, unlucky Anna comes between them
"Welcome to Chen's Island." Clouse announced, stepping off the ship "The Tournament of Elements welcomes its brave fighters" he turned to Garmadon "Master Chen will be pleased you've returned, Sensei Garmadon."
Garmadon responds with "The pleasure is all mine, Clouse."
"I'm sure it is." Clouse says rolling his eyes "Feeling some tension between you two." Jay uttered
"Kinda like your enemies or something," Anna says
"Yeah, and how is it we're on an island I've never seen on any map?" Kai questions
"And care to explain how the face of Ninjago's most popular noodle house is secretly assembling an underground fighting tournament?" Cole adds
Garmadon sighed before explaining "Master Chen used to be a friend. Now he's a traitor. During the Serpentine Wars, Chen turned against his own kind and sided with the treacherous snakes."
"The battle you and Uncle Wu fought together in? He was an enemy?" Lloyd remarks
"He used deception to divide the Elemental Masters. We barely defeated the Serpentine, and in a deal for his surrender, Chen was to never leave this island. Little did we know, he'd begin to build his criminal empire from here." Garmadon says but Anna's attention was caught when the girl who she saw earlier winked her her.
"He may have divided our ancestors, but he's not gonna divide us," Lloyd says while they walk up the stairs
Kai sees Skylor walking behind him. "Uh...ladies first." He pushes the ninja aside for Skylor to pass "What am I? Chopped liver?" Anna muttered, "Fire will melt her icy heart. Just wait." Kai said and everyone glanced at Anna, who shoved Kai's hand away and Garmadon sighed
The ninja reaches the gate where the other elemental masters are, and Clouse opens them. "This is a big island. Zane could be anywhere. Keep an eye out." Cole informed
"So this is the house that Noodles built. Ha! Always wanted to go to a red carpet event." Jay exclaims
But Garmadon didn't have the same spirit "Chen lives like a king. Here, he's totally self-sufficient. The only way on or off this island is with his permission, which you have to earn."
"You never told me about this place. How do you know so much about this island?" Lloyd asks his father,
The elemental masters sit in a circle in a room.
"You never told me you had a Sensei," Lloyd says. "Didn't the first Spinjitzu Master train you?" Anna questions.
"When I was your age, I sought a darker means of guidance. My father would never allow that but Chen taught me to win at all cost, no matter who I hurt. It wasn't until you saved me that I saw the light." Garmadon says
"Uh, apparently he also never taught you to have a sense of humor. Lighten up, we're in an underground fight club. This is supposed to be fun." Jay remarks.
Anna tilted her head slightly "I hope you haven't forgotten the reason why we're here"
"To find Zane but seriously when will we ever get a chance like this!?" Jay exclaims.
There was a gong sound and then Clouse announced " All rise for Master Chen." A chair is lowered from the ceiling and the elemental master stands up.
The chair softly landed on the floor and Chen said "Welcome to the Tournament of Elements. Now everyone can all di—"The door suddenly closes and everyone but Anna gasps "—rect your attention to me!" Chen laughs.
