Michael's POV

I woke up the next morning with a dark bruise around my left eye.

Tyler was sitting on the other end of the couch with his phone in his hands.

"Fuck!" He yelled.

"Tyler!" His step dad yelled. "Not in my house!" He joked.

"Sorry!" Tyler shouted.

"Hello?" I said. "Trying to sleep, here."

"My bad." He said.

I scooted over to him and layed my head in his lap.

"What are you doing, anyways?" I asked.

"Trying to beat Quin's score on fucking Flappy Bird."

"What even is that?" I asked.

"A stupid game." He said.

"Why are you playing it, then?"

"To beat Quin's score." He said.

I took the phone out of his hand and shoved it between the couch cushions.

"You dickhead, I was at twenty-four!" He said.

I chuckled. "You forgot, didn't you?"

"Are you crazy? What kind of boyfriend do you think I am? Of course I didn't forget your birthday."

I smiled and hid my face in a pillow.

"I got you something." He said. "I'll be right back."

He got up and walked away to wherever.

I quickly got my phone out to text Sky.

"I need you to call me with an excuse go get me away from Tyler for at least an hour and a half....I'm doing it today" and I sent it.

As soon as I put my phone down, Tyler came back into the room.

He handed me a long, skinny box that was wrapped in rainbow paper wrap.

"I like the rainbow." I said, chuckling.

I tore the paper and opened the black box that appeared to be a drum stick case. I opened it to find my old drum sticks.

"It's my old drum sticks." I said.

"Yeah, get them out and turn them over." He said.

I did as he said and got one out and turned it over.

"Keep On Drumming." It said.

"It says 'Keep On Drumming'." I said.

"Get the other one."

I did. It had a signature that I had to admire for a minute to make out what it says.

"Rick Allen! Holy shit! You got my drum sticks signed by Rick Allen?" I yelled.

"Yes, I did." He said.

Rick Allen is the drummer in Def Leppard who lost his arm and kept on drumming.

"How? I mean, not to be rude, but how the hell did you get a signature from Rick Allen? He's like a legend." I said.

"Don't worry about it, it's a present. I have my connections." He said.

I cupped his cheeks with my hands and kissed him all over the face. "I freaking love you." I said. "When did you take them? I didn't even notice that they weren't in my room."

"Again, don't worry about it." He said.

Seconds later, my phone rang. It was Sky.

"It's Sky." I said.
