The team of criminal minds had just finished a difficult case, and everyone was feeling the weight of the job they had to do. As they sat in the conference room, discussing the case, Reid couldn't help but notice the worry etched on his teammates' faces. He knew they were all feeling the effects of the job, but he also knew that they were all worried about him.

Reid had always been the youngest member of the team, and his team had always been overprotective of him. They saw him as the baby of the group, and they couldn't help but worry about him when they were out in the field. But Reid was used to it by now, and he knew that it came from a place of love and concern.

As the conversation in the conference room continued, Reid could feel his teammates' eyes on him. He knew they were worried about him, and he knew they were trying to be subtle about it, but he could see it plain as day. He sighed and decided to address the elephant in the room.

"Guys, I appreciate your concern, but I'm fine," Reid said, looking around at his teammates. "I know you worry about me, but I can take care of myself. I've been doing this for a long time now, and I can handle it."

His teammates nodded, but Reid could see that they were still worried. He knew that they would always be overprotective of him, and he was grateful for it, but he also knew that he had to stand up for himself. He was a part of the team, and he didn't want to be treated like a child.

"I know you're just looking out for me, and I appreciate it," Reid continued. "But I need you to trust me. I can handle myself, and I don't want to be treated like a kid anymore. I'm a part of this team, and I want to be treated as an equal."

His teammates looked at him with understanding, and Reid could see the respect in their eyes. They knew that he was right, and they knew that they had to trust him to do his job. They had always been overprotective of him, but they also knew that he was more than capable of taking care of himself.

"Okay, Reid," Hotch said, nodding. "We trust you, and we know that you can handle yourself. But we're always here for you if you need us."

Reid smiled, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders. He knew that his team would always be there for him, but he also knew that they would give him the space and respect he needed. He was grateful for their overprotectiveness, but he was also grateful for their trust in him. He was a part of the team, and he knew that they would always have his back. As the team finished up their discussion and prepared to head home, Reid felt a sense of relief knowing that his team understood his perspective. However, as they made their way out of the building, Reid noticed his teammates keeping a closer eye on him than usual. He couldn't help but chuckle to himself, realizing that old habits die hard.

"Guys, I appreciate the concern, but I promise I won't get lost on the way home," Reid joked, trying to lighten the mood.

"Sorry, Reid. It's just force of habit," Morgan replied with a sheepish grin.

Reid nodded, understanding that it would take time for his teammates to fully adjust. He appreciated their protective nature, but he also knew it was important to establish boundaries. As they reached the parking lot, Reid waved goodbye to his colleagues and headed towards his car. However, before he could even unlock the door, he heard footsteps approaching from behind.

"Reid, wait up," JJ called out, jogging to catch up with him.

"Hey, JJ. What's up?" Reid asked, turning to face her.

"Look, I know you're capable, but I just wanted to make sure you're okay. It's been a tough case, and I worry about you," JJ said, her concern evident in her eyes.

Reid smiled, grateful for JJ's thoughtfulness. "I'm fine, JJ. I promise. But thank you for looking out for me. It means a lot."

JJ nodded, giving Reid a reassuring pat on the shoulder before heading to her own car. Reid watched her go, feeling a warmth in his heart knowing that his teammates cared for him so deeply.

As Reid drove home, he couldn't help but reflect on the events of the day. He knew that his team's overprotectiveness came from a place of love and concern, and he appreciated their unwavering support. It was a reminder that no matter how tough the job got, he had a family in his teammates who would always have his back.

Reid made a mental note to express his gratitude to them the next time they were all together. After all, it was their bond that made them such a strong and effective team. And despite their protective nature, Reid knew that he wouldn't have it any other way.
