"Don't force me to be harsh", papa said angrily.

"Par papa usko agar bahar jake padhna hai toh usme dikkar kya hai? Bahar jayegi, naye logon se milegi toh usko bhi achha lagega wahan. Aur agar baat uski humein chhod kar jane ki hai, toh mai khud har do hafte kaam se time nikal kar usse milne chala jaunga", bhaiya said.
(But dad, if she wants to go out and stufy, then what's the problem in that? She'll go out, meet new people and she'll also like it. And if the matter is about her leaving us, then I myself will take out time from work and go to meet her every two weeks)

"Jo karna hai karo! Meri toh kisine nahi sunn ni", papa says throwing the newspaper on the couch.
(Do whatever you want! No one has to listen to me)

I finally spoke. "Papa, kya mujhe apni padhai ka decision khud lene ka haq nahi hai?", I asked him sitting closer to him on the couch.
(Dad, don't I have the right to take my own decision about my study)

"Shanu, meri rajkumari, tujhe bilkul haq hai apne life ke decisions khud lene ka. Par tu bahar bilkul akeli kaise rahegi beta", he says patting my head.

(Shanu, my princess, you have every right to take your own life decisions. But how will you stay outside all alone)

"Thik hai meri rajkumari, tu aaj tak kabhi humse durr nahi rahi hai. Hum sabko teri bahut yaad aayegi." Papa got emotional.
(Alright my princess, you have never been away from us till date. We all will miss you a lot)

I knew it. Bhaiya will be successful at convincing papa as always. Or maybe it was my baby face which melted him.

"Par wahan anjaan logon se thoda kam kilna julna aur roz phone karti rehna", mumma said.
(But keep less interaction with unknown people and keep calling me daily)

Typical brown mom things.
Sometimes my parents become overprotective and I love it and at the same time hate it too.

"Haan meri maa, aap tension na lo. Nidhi bhi toh hogi mere saath, mai akeli thodi hun."
(Yes mom, don't worry. Nidhi will also be there with me, I'm not alone)

Yuvi bhaiya: "Wahi toh sabse badi tension hai ki woh tere saath hai"- Everybody laughed.
(That's the biggest tension that she's with you)

Me: "Kya yaar bhaiya aisa nahi hai, woh meri sabse achhi dost hai."
(Bro it's not like that, she's my bestfriend)

Nidhi and I are bestfriends since high school. And now we were finally going to stay together as roommates.

My thoughts get interrupted when my phone buzzed. Nidhi finally called.

"Haan Nidhi bol! Uncle aunty ne haan kar di na?"
(Yes Nidhi tell! Uncle aunty said yes na?)

"Haan yaar, pehle toh mummy thoda jhijak rahi thi par baad mein papa ne aur maine milke unko mana hi liya. Tu bata uncle ne kya kaha?"
(Yes dude, at first mum was a little hesitant but later dad and I convinced her. Tell me what did uncle say)

"Yayayayy..mera bhi set hai. Maine kaha tha na bhaiya sab kuchh sambhal lenge. Woh papa se baat karein aur papa na mane, aisa kabhi ho sakta hai!"
(Everything is set for me too. I told you na bro will handle everything. Bhaiya will talk to him and he won't admit. Could this ever happen?)

"Thank god, everything worked out as planned. Sunn hum kal shopping ke liye chal rahe hain thik hai..sab cheezon ki list bana ke rakhna, kuchh bhi chhutna nhi chahiye", she said.
(Listen we are going for shopping tomorrow okay...keep a list of everything, nothing should be left out)
