Evelyn's POV

With my shorts and his jeans drenched, Ashton gets up and helps me off the sand. We exchange glances and grin as though we have a secret joke going on between us that nobody else is aware of. I approach Sophie and Jax as Ashton goes to get the rest of our friends. I reach Jax and Sophie, who glance at me uneasily as they get up from the beach chairs in front of the bonfire.

"Hey, Ashton wants to play some drinking game, so I told him to gather everyone up and let's just play at my pool or on the rooftop. We'll all take a vote or something." I say looking at them.

"At your house? In that house? Are you sure?" Jax looks back and forth from the house to Sophie, looking extremely worried, and then looks into my eyes with fear I don't recognize.

"Yes, Jax it's okay trust me my parents don't mind I already shot them a text and told them I was having some people over. They're cool, plus my mom told me they were going to bed already."

At this, there's a sigh of relief and now I'm looking at Sophie who is giving me a shady look back but then smiles.

"Okay, you guys have to sober up if you're going to play." I laughed at their awkwardness. I saw Ashton walking up to us with his friends and mine, but I barely saw them I was only focused on Ashton and the excitement that comes with a potential crush...

I had voted for the rooftop as well as Ally and Sarah but we lost out to everyone else for the pool. Now, it was close to 11:00 p.m. Everyone had already dived into the pool; the majority of us sat on the small bar stools at the end of my pool, while the others simply clung to the edge while sipping their drinks.

I realized they had left an empty stool next to Ashton who said, "Come on it's your house, this one's for you," as he tapped the built-in stool in the water.

With a deep breath, I undid my shirt and shorts and made my way towards everyone. I looked at Ashton, observing as his gaze went over my entire body. My hand brushed Ashton's knee as I was about to take my place, and I hoped no one saw how hot my cheeks would soon get. With a smile, I took a seat and said, "Let's get started."

Now that Cole and Damien, the other two guys who had been making Sadie and Gianna giggle while wrestling in the sand, had joined us too, they seemed quite pleasant.

I try to play it off and act like I don't notice Ashton attempting to peer into my soul, but I can't help but notice the perpetual glances he takes. Ally is, of course, seated on the stool across from me as I sit on the one next to him in the water. What are they if not a couple? I doubt he would have approached me alone on the beach and just sat there with me if they were dating. Jax continued to peek at me, but I ignored it since I assumed he was just drunk.

"Alright I'll start, never have I ever slept with my best friend's girlfriend," Cole speaks up. Damien damn near choked on his chaser and Ashton laughs but doesn't take a sip. Neither does anyone else except...Damien, ouch wonder who he's best friends with.

 "Oh," Gianna says eyeing him.

"None of us have ever been in a serious relationship what are you talking about?" Ashton asks, laughing with his gorgeous dark eyebrows furrowed.

Ally is the one that chokes on her chaser next at that comment and it takes everything in me not to burst out laughing. If she hadn't looked at me like she wanted to slice me when we met earlier, I would've even felt sorry for her.

Damien looks at Gianna and says "We take this game very seriously, it doesn't matter if it happened with an old best friend or these guys, I still have to be honest about it. If not what's the point of the game, right?" He breathes. Now Gianna is eyeing him suspiciously, so I'm the one that breaks the tension next.
