August stared in horror at the gruesome scene. He definitely had a couple of broken ribs, and he found himself struggling to take in a full breath. Rubble from the surrounding colosseum was cast around him. One of the fallen columns had blood seeping from beneath it, and he wasn't sure whether it belonged to a friend or a monster. He could hear Alexandra sobbing behind him, but he couldn't bring himself to look at who had been injured this time.

In the back of his mind, August knew that he had to act now, while the colossus was distracted, if he wanted his friends to survive. He also knew that if he went through with this, there was a good chance that he wouldn't live to see if he had succeeded. The knot in his stomach was pulling itself tighter and tighter as August came to his conclusion. Steeling his nerves and clutching the glowing blade in his hands, he charged.
