Europa

Another campaign that was a big impact during the war was during the Europa Revolution. Europa was considered as a Research Colony which means it was heavy in the science advanced technology department. It is the key reason why so many things were manufactured there. Europa was perfect for to build state of the art robotics and equipment used in heavy industries.

By the time the war had broken out, the city was deserted and small warlord factions took over. One such faction was the House of Salvation led by Pro- Shadow Covenant Eramis. A force of over 100,000- to almost 1,000,000, The House of Salvation played a key role in the war including the Europa campaigns.

They mostly had weapons that were from their home planet but often converted weapons and modified to their own desires. When they took over the old foundries, they used it to manufacture most of their weapons for the war effort.

The city inside of the planet's mountain ranges was eventually destroyed and wrecked due to the heavy fighting. The Vex established their own base of operations where the Cabal, Vex, and Fallen warlords had been battling for almost every day.

Military troops stationed in Europa were deployed as soon as the insurgents attacked. In the west, a small science center was taken by Fallen insurgents and eventually led to another attack. A ship carrying food and supplies to the refugees was shot down too which caused inflammation and disease.

Artillery pounded the Europan ground and even missiles were used by the GDC as means of hopefully stopping them. The missiles landed on every target that they were sent to and everyone was not safe from the barrage. It was so bad that many resorted to hiding underground.

The House of Salvation eventually turned Europa into a small little separatist state that was ripe for the Shadow Covenant to control. The Eliksni there were forced to eventually become full fledged military soldiers and volunteers as a means of forced recruitment and promises they would not have.

Europa City became a battle ground. The factories and city center became wastelands. And the survivors were forced to live in shelters. Marauders and pirates roamed the streets and getting out there was a death sentence.

While on Europa, Eramis along with her own Shadow Covenant forces managed to find an artifact worth finding. Another form of dark power that was quite similar to the one that Dark Master had granted them when the Shadow Covenant was created but one that could a freeze and break a man quite literally. This was called Stasis.

When Eramis brought this power to the Dark Master, he was most impressed that he granted her and her army the power which they would later use to wreak havoc on Europa.

Villages and smaller cities were taken within a matter of months and left no survivors. An old contact of the GDC managed to find some help after contacting the Chairman about the current situation.  After quite a while, about one GDC fleet was ready to be dispatched.

They landed near a small encampment where they fought the House of Salvation's militia. Despite the name though, it was well trained and equipped with effective weapons. GDC gunships landed near Point: Ice and Point: Snow which only costed many lives.

After the heavy landings, GDC troops met in an old abandoned radio station which served as the frontline headquarters. Their contact was Variks who was a warden at the prison on Awokos who was some what responsible for the death of Cayde for releasing the mercenary that murdered him.

GDC troops began fighting against insurgents and clans all over the system, taking back territory and capturing key areas of control. Villages began to develop new ways in order to support their potential liberators so many groups formed militias and small raiding parties in order to supply and provide partisan aid.

The Europa Offensive lasted for nearly a whole 3 months but in due time, most of the Salvation Clan was in shambles. Eramis was put into stasis before she eventually escaped custody and fled to the nearest Shadow Covenant controlled planet. The rest of her army either deserted, surrendered, held out, or eventually joined the enemy.

With the help of a newly elected Kell, many refugees were sent to Neomuna or Ethos Prime where a large piece of land inside the city was being used to provide some sort of Refuge Center. Europa would be placed in military quarantine and no one was allowed in or out, and just like Nessus, it was going to be very long.

Similar battles occurred all over galaxy such as the Siege of Io where small Red Legion troops were mining resources for the war effort, The Battle of Titan where Hive and Fallen were clashing with each other, and not to mention the Mars Campaign where larger offensives turned Mars into a wasteland.

Mercury was not even spared of the fighting as was Venus and the other alien planets such as the Tobali homeworld, Cabal homeworld, and much much more.

But eventually, GDC managed to gain some victories and that brought hope to the galaxy. The only thing everyone was asking was that what was to come next.
