2 years had passed and the war was still being waged. But the Galactic Federation has made great progress into ending the war which ravaged the galaxy for quite a long time.

They managed to defend or capture a decent amount of territory and the Shadow Covenant was beginning to fracture. However it still held a majority of territory and it's army was still as powerful as it was. While most of the leadership was in shambles, many newly promoted commanders soon became the chosen few of the Dark Lord Order.

The populations of the many Shadow Covenant held planets were forced to aid and join the struggle. Millions were forced into the military and placed on strict military training. Brainwashed children soon grew up to be warriors while many became miners and workers in order to produce more goods for the war effort.

Fleets were being sent left and right and the Shadow Covenant was regaining control or at least holding out long enough. Dark Master knew that as long as the war was still going on, he still had a chance of victory. But from many reports coming from within his own planets, many revolts had broken up recently and Galactic Federation troops were marching into their territory.

He had to make a choice and only one of them could determine the fate of the entire conflict. The chance to eradicate their enemies or find some way to coexist.

Meanwhile, morale was growing up and many citizens in Ethos Prime were cheering on the many victories their troops on the frontlines were gaining. After hearing word that Savathun was no more, many citizens decided to join but this time on their own accord.

Trostland was later clear of all insurgents but had to still be placed under military command after the tensions with the Shadow Covenant. With a new set of Allie's and friends, the Galactic Federation did everything in its power to ensure that they were prepared.

Smaller campaigns raged from all over the galaxy including the ones already under GDC control including the pirate attacks that were being committed by Eramis after she escaped from prison. Training and equipment was given to new recruits from all over the galaxy and soon the GDC found an increasing rise in both human, Exo, and alien soldiers. They were not alone in this fight.

But then one such attack left the Galactic Federation devastated. Upon orders from Dark Master, a large number of Shadow Covenant Special Forces led by Eramis and Xivu Arath laid a planetary siege upon the orbital defense grid. The interplanetary fighting was fierce and cost damage to both fleets.

While the Shadow Covenant sustained heavy losses, they were able to capture the main control tower that was up on the space station. They managed to control the entire system while also sending troops to gain control of the entire defense network from their base in Europa.

Only a handful of GDC managed to retake the defense control center but not before they managed to hack into the system. The Shadow Fleet was pulled back far from the battle zones and the hacked defense satellites were pointed toward the capital.

Fearing for their lives, everyone hid in the city bunkers or makeshift shelters and the air defenses were not in range of the satellites. Everyone was waiting for the satellites to fire their lasers until a single EMP managed to knock out their systems and caused them to implode.

Eramis fled with her fleet that was making a temporary orbit around the Moon. While there, they would regroup with the Shadow Covenant's other fleets that were making their way towards Earth.

While no one was killed or injured, it left Earth defenseless along their atmosphere and with no satellites to prevent any ships from coming towards the capital, the Home Defense Fleet had to send at least a single detachment along with their prized command ship: HELM.

The biggest battle was yet to come.

And as the war dragged on, both sides lost or won some victories but the next battle would determine the fate over everything that the two factions ideologies fought for. One for freedom, another for power and oppression. The question that everyone asked was: Who Would Win?
