It's known for it's destination name as "The Arcadian Valley" where a Golden Age colony ship known as the Exodus Black had crashed before The Collapse, the end of Humanity's Golden Age and beginning of The Dark Age.
The planet alone is populated by the Vex, strange robotic time travelling organisms from origins unknown, The Fallen, space pirates who had their own Collapse before Humanity and then the Cabal, war-mongering, military race. At least Fragments of the Red Legion are still within the planet's grounds.
