Existence
I didn't ask to be born
My name wasn't on a list
Two people had sex and here I am
Is my birth a matter of existentialism
Or is it a result of chance
Am I the result of probability
Do I exist simply to live
Or is my existence a fortunate event
A lucky combination of such events
Is it a complicated process of certainty
That was planned before I existed
Or a series of prearranged events
I can trace my ancestry back several centuries
Does that suggest a planned certainty
Or is it a result of fortuitousness
Maybe I should just be satisfied
That I exist and have lived knowing
That I was fortunate to experience it
