Chapter 35

RECAP:
After seeing Meera and Rahul together, Shubham was already not in a very good mood. But after watching Meera taking Rahul's side and asking favours from him for Rahul, Shubham's anger erupted just like a volcano. But he chose to stay calm in front of Meera and suffer in silence. Because he didn't want to control Meera and put any kind of pressure on her, that's why he left without telling anyone to confront his own anger in silence.

The hands - holding scene was playing again and again in Shubham's mind.

Shubham was busy recalling Meera's words about how she was requesting him to hire Rahul.

"Sir, your drink", said the waiter interrupting Shubham's melancholic thoughts.

The waiter kept the drink on the table and was serving it but Shubham stopped him from doing so.

"Leave. I will do it myself", said Shubham.

The waiter left.

Shubham took the bottle in his hand and threw it with all his power on the floor.

The shattering glass loud sound silenced everyone present inside the hotel.

The manager came running to Shubham but stopped at a distance after seeing the floor.

The broken bottle's glass was shattered everywhere on the floor.

"Sir, what happened? Did you not like the drink?", asked the manager politely.

"Give me another one", said Shubham.

The manager was about to speak further but stopped after receiving a dreadful look from Shubham.

"Ok sir", said the manager and left.

Shubham was now again ready to drown in his melancholy.

Malhotra Mansion

It was 1 Am already and Shubham was yet not home.

Scared Meera was roaming here and there inside her room while waiting for Shubham.

"What kind of ridiculous behaviour is this?! How can he do this!.. Was my mistake so huge that he decided to behave like this? But it is also possible that he got busy with some work. But if it all was because of work then he could have informed at least Tanya. But no, he has gone alone... And his phone is also switched off. I hope he is fine...", thought Meera roaming restlessly.

Scared Meera thought to call her bestfriend Kaira.

Meera dialed her number and made a call to Kaira immediately.

"Hello Kaira?", spoke Meera nervously on call.

"Yes, Meera. What happened? You are calling me at 1 AM. Is everything fine?", asked Kaira tensely.

Meera narrated the whole story to her.

"Now tell me. What should I do?? I don't understand what went so wrong that he decided to behave this way! I am very worried Kaira. His phone has been switched off for so long", said Meera panicking on call.

"Oh Meera! You are so stupid. He is a businessman, he has thousands and millions of works and meetings. I guess he is in an important meeting right now and that's why he has switched off his phone. There is nothing to worry about in all this. These big business personalities have meetings at any hour of day and night. So you don't worry and sleep", said Kaira pacifying Meera.

"Kaira! You are not understanding. If he had gone to some meeting then he would have informed his assistant but he ordered his assistant to cancel all the meetings for today and he left the office in anger and without any security. He has gone all alone and it's 1 AM. He is not back yet and his phone is off! How can I not worry?!", said Meera frustratingly.

"Okay! Relax! Take a deep breath. Yes, I can understand. It's not that normal. There is something fishy in this. What do you want me to do?", asked Kaira attentively.

"Please tell me that what should I do?", asked Meera.

"Tell your family. I mean your in-laws. Take their help. And try to inform someone who is trustworthy and can really help you in this without creating any ruckus", said Kaira.

"Are you sure?", asked Meera.

"Yes, I am. You can't do all this alone, especially when you are yourself new to all this", said Kaira.

"Okay", said Meera.

"Wait! Meera!", said Kaira.

"Yes?", asked Meera.

"Let me tell you that these kinds of  businessman doesn't like so much interference in their life. I mean they are already busy every time and have so much workload over them. That's why they don't like when someone especially their wife asks too many questions regarding their whereabouts and interferes too much in their life. I have read these kinds of plots in the story. That's why I told you and nothing else", said Kaira innocently.

Meera paused for a minute and started thinking about Kaira's advice.

"Doesn't matter! I don't care if he likes it or not but it's my right to do. It's my right to worry about him. So no one can stop me from worrying about my husband, not even he himself. That's why I am going to find him. Thank you so much Kaira, bye!", said Meera and disconnected the call.

Meera was on her way to Dadi's room but stopped suddenly.

"I think it's not right to tell Dadi. She loves Mr. Malhotra so much. She will get very worried and it's not good for her health. But if not dadi then whom can I tell?", thought Meera.

Meera notices that Ananya is sneaking inside the mansion secretly at this hour.

"Yes! Ananya! I can ask for help from Ananya", thought Meera and went behind Ananya.

"Ananya?", called Meera in a very low voice.

Ananya got scared and was about to scream but Meera closed her mouth.

"Don't shout! Don't shout! I am Meera", said Meera.

Ananya turned to see Meera and took a deep breath of relief.

"See, please don't tell bhai..", said Ananya.

"I am not here for that. I am not asking you from where you are coming at this time and neither I will say anything to Mr. Malhotra. I am here because I want your help. Actually, I badly need your help. Please help me!", pleaded Meera.

"My help?!", asked Ananya surprisingly.

"Yes", replied Meera.

"Wait! It's shocking. I mean Shubham Malhotra's wife needs someone's help", said Ananya laughingly.

Meera didn't reply back.

"Anyway. Tell me, how can I help you?", asked Ananya.

"Mr. Malhotra is not home yet. I mean it's almost 2 AM and he is yet not back. He had left the office in anger and his phone is also switched off", said Meera.

"So?",  asked Ananya confusingly.

"I don't know where is he.. I am worried for him", said Meera innocently.

"See my dear Bhabhi, it's very normal. I mean that it's the normal behaviour of bhai. And being in anger is his all-time favourite mood. And nobody can ask him where was he and all that. He doesn't like these kinds of stuffs and questions. And you are talking about 2 AM and 3 AM but sometimes, bhai has not returned home for like 3 to 4 days and we didn't know where is he. So, don't worry. It's very normal. You are new to all this na, that's why you are worrying but there is nothing to worry about. So take a chill pill and sleep", said Ananya.

Meera didn't say anything but her face was telling everything and Ananya noticed it. She saw that Meera was not convinced by her answer.

"Okay listen, I can't help you in this but Anuj can. Because Anuj knew Bhai's bestfriend. I guess only bhai's bestfriend can help you with this because he is the only person with whom Bhai shares a little bit of his feelings. So it might be possible that he knew about Bhai", said Ananya.

"Okay thanks", said Meera with a little relief and hope.
