She lays her against his chest. One hand threaded between each of his fingers, the other perched on the peck of his chest.

Her forehead is against the side of his face. It's smooth and she's not used to the feeling. She can tell he had just shaved earlier in the day. She can smell hints of aftershave on him as well but she nestles herself closer taking a subtle sniff of his skin.

His hand is on the small of her back. Just far enough down that if he moves any lower it'll be on her ass. She had stripped her blazer so that all that remains is the dishevelled material of her pantsuit.

She suddenly wished that she had gone home and changed before their night out but she shifts her focus back to Elliot. She closes her eyes and focuses on the feeling of his arm around her and his chest against her face. If she listens close enough she can hear his heartbeat.

After several minutes the song comes to an end and she moves to take her seat but he takes her by the hand. He begins guiding her before she has the chance to contest and leads her to the familiar stairwell that had taken before.

He once again helps her up the stairs with a hand on the small of her back. She's not in heels this time so it had less to do with needing to help her and more to do with wanting to offer her support and wanting to touch her.

Maybe if he focused on the warmth of her body against his fingertips it would slow his racing thoughts. .

When they arrive at the rooftop the entire space is illuminated from the lights lining the walls of the rooftop.

It was beautiful. Everything looked so bright, the stars, the lights, the moon. It was breathtaking and she stepped towards the edge of the roof as she had done several other times the first time he brought her here. She takes in the view for a moment and when she doesn't find Elliot at his normal place by her side she turns to find him.

Utter shock washes over her when she finds him down on one knee ring displayed in his hands.

"Liv," he starts and his voice almost breaks right away "I brought you here tonight because this is the place where I believe that our relationship truly started. I won't speak for you but I can say with complete certainty that I fell in love with you a long time ago, however I wasn't the man that you needed me to be. I couldn't be that man because I was committed to someone else. But the night we came here, although we had already been intimate, I believe that our relationship took a different path that night. It wasn't about lust or years of pent up emotions. That night was about nothing but the development of our relationship and an expression of what we meant to each other. How much we needed each other. I made a promise that night that I would never leave you again. I meant that with all of my heart and now I'm here to prove it. Not just words but with actions. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Olivia Benson. I love you and Noah more than you'll ever know. I know I've made mistakes but I want to spend the rest of my life devoted to you and your son. Will you marry me?"

Her eyes are wide and her hands are covering her face, nothing but her eyes and the very tip of the brim of her nose spilling out from above her hands. The little voice inside her head is screaming yes. Her mouth opens to talk but her brain won't let the words come out. He's ripped every word from lips leaving her completely speechless.

There are tears in his eyes as he continues looking up at her with nothing but sheer joy and love on his face and it brings tears to her own.

Her words catch in her throat the second she opens her mouth to say them but she tries again.

"Of course I'll marry you." She manages through a shaky voice and he quickly jumps to his feet and throws his arms around her.

Hes ecstatic and she swears she can feel the energy coursing through his veins, through the bulky arms that encase her.
