It's been 2 and a half weeks since she walked in on Elliot peacefully rocking Noah back to sleep. The weeks seemed to have flown by and just when she thought her emotions couldn't have been any higher they peaked. Elliot taking his stuff and moving back home was a new form of heartbreak she was completely shocked by. She had taken him to get his cast off, she had known that this day was coming, that he would be returning home but still she was devastated to see him go in a way that she wasn't expecting.

What she was almost more unprepared for was how devastating it seemed for Noah. In the time that Elliot was there Noah hadn't just grown fond of Elliot he had grown completely attached. They successfully built his remote control car after weeks of trying and had spent hours walking around the park while Noah plowed over rocks, racing around corners, and truly put that thing through the ringer.

In their time together they had all made unbelievable memories that they would forever be grateful for but what none of them were expecting was the intense longing to continue on like that, living together, making memories together, doing stuff like a family-as a family. At the end of the day they had always felt like family to each other but in those 3 weeks something was different, something had shifted, they weren't just family, they were a family and their house felt like a home.

As if them being a family couldn't have been solidified any more in their eyes by the time they spent together between the 3 of them, they had a family dinner with all of the Stabler kids and Bernie to celebrate Elliot getting his cast off the last night he spent in Olivia's apartment. They knew they would spend a lot of time at the doctors office between getting the cast off and X-rays and everything else so they figured they would have him go home the next day so that he didn't have to spend the entire day running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.

They had spent a lovely evening together, the whole family. Elliot, Olivia, and Noah cooked this huge pot roast dinner for everyone and the night went off without a hitch. Bernie had even asked Olivia for her recipe. (Not that Bernie did much cooking anymore) but Olivia was happy to oblige.

They spent the night eating dinner, cracking jokes, drinking wine, enjoying each other's company as Noah made friends with Elliots grandkids. They bonded over video games, Legos and remote control cars. It felt like a blended family, like something that they could all gladly be a part of for the years to follow, but if the circumstances didn't allow that it was a memory they knew they would all hold dear to their hearts for the remainder of their lives.

They had both been desperate to "spend the night together" the last night he was there now that he finally was completely healed but by the end of the day they were both exhausted and just grateful for a beautiful dinner spent with loved ones, that was enough for them.

Elliot had called yesterday, just 3 days after their lovely dinner with the whole family, to let her know that he had to leave town due to an unexpected death back in Italy. His former partner Tia had gotten involved with some people over there for a case and had been killed in the line of duty. She knew that living together already was unreasonable and that she needed to get her emotions in check in regards to him leaving, but the thought of him being so far away rocked her to her core. She couldn't stand the thought of it. They hadn't put a label on their relationship yet due to the fact she hadn't yet had a conversation with Noah but it was known, to both of them, they were exclusive.

They weren't official and couldn't be until she talked to Noah but they were dating and in agreement that they weren't seeing anyone else. The only person aware of the nature of their relationship was rollins and she's guessing subsequently Carisi due to the events that unfolded outside of the bar but they had no intentions of telling anyone else. They hadn't intended on telling Amanda either but she wouldn't let it go the next day so they had made a deal to wait to talk to anyone else until she could talk to Noah. Olivia had no doubts with the way he'd been acting to Elliot that he would be okay with it but Noah's happiness was a huge deciding factor so their relationship hinged on the conversation going well.

She's supposed to meet Elliot at the airport tonight to see him off. He had an early flight so Noah would be at school and Elliot couldn't help but feel disappointed that he wouldn't get to say goodbye. He was only supposed to be gone for a few days, just long enough to attend the funeral and have some time to recoup before getting back on another series of long flights.

She gets in her car and begins heading to the airport, she tries to shake the nervous feeling that has now become overwhelming. She has no idea why she's nervous, the man has seen her completely naked on several occasions both physically and hypothetically speaking when it comes to her emotions.

She takes a deep breath and tries to shake it off. She pulls up to the airport and makes her way inside where they agreed to meet. When she doesn't find him she takes a seat and figures he's just running a little late. A few minutes go by and she checks her phone to see if there's any texts from him.

She hears the footsteps of someone drawing close but before she can look up to see who it is she already knows. She takes a deep whiff of his cologne and familiar scent-Elliot-she almost says his name before he can say a word. "Liv." He mutters so soft that she almost doesn't hear it but still looks up to meet his gorgeous blue eyes.

Her mouth falls open when shes met with not only his captivating baby blues but a bouquet of bright red roses. "Elliot." She gasps. "You didn't have to do that." She stands and wraps her arms around him kissing him on the cheek. "I wanted to. A reminder while I'm away that I'll be thinking of you."

She feels the heat in her cheeks and tries to shy away so he doesn't see. He smiles when he realizes that she's blushing. "I'll be thinking of you too." She admits resting her head against his for a moment before placing a soft tender kiss on his lips.

"Liv I know that this is difficult, and I know that we'll miss each other every minute I'm away but we'll get through it." She thinks about how they haven't gone a day without seeing each other since he moved out. "I know." He can see a tear sliding down her cheek and reaches up to wipe it away with his thumb.

They hold each other tightly and try to enjoy each other's presence as much as possible in the short time before his plane is ready for take off. They begin boarding the passengers and he pulls her in for one last hug and kiss. He grips her firmly as his heart tightens in his chest. He doesn't want to let her go.

He pulls away and places a kiss on her lips. They both linger longer than necessary neither one of them wanting to break the connection. He kisses her with love and passion so deep he hopes it'll carry her through the next few days.

She grips his head tightly and returns his embrace with just as much passion willing herself to let him go. When they finally separate she watches as the distance between them grows larger.

Her heart is racing, her mind can't seem to get a grip on anything that is reality, she begins walking at a brisk pace to catch up with him-taking larger than normal strides. When she sees that he's nearing the line to get on the plane she calls his name.

"El!" She shouts as she continues making her way through the crowd. He turns to look for her but doesn't see her. "El." she says his name again as she finally makes her way through to the other side of the wall of people. "L-liv what's wrong." He says as she grows closer. "I love you." She shouts while walking towards him and the words are like music to his ears. His face grows happy and replaces the concerned look that was plastered on his face. He sets his duffle bag down before throwing his hands up to cup her face when she closes the last remaining distance between them.

"I love you too Liv. Always." He kisses her on the lips and gets lost in the embrace once more. He only comes to when he hears the last call for him to board his flight. "I gotta go." He sighs barely able to bring himself to break the connection. With her face still in his hands he gives her one last quick peck on the lips and looks her over to make sure she's going to be okay.

"I'll call you as soon as I land baby." He grabs his stuff and hurries towards the plane.

Baby

Something she has no doubt she's going to have to get used to.
