Ten: Getting The Band Back Together... Again

El's hair was slicked back, her nose was bleeding, and she had punk makeup on. She looked pretty badass in Y/n's opinion.
El and Y/n were extremely close. When they found her in the woods, the boys all just stared at her, and Y/n was the only one trying to make her feel comfortable.

"Wait, do you guys hear that?"
"Hear what?"
"Just shut up, listen."
A rustling came from close by. Like, really close by.
"Shit, we're gonna die. It's probably a bear or something."
The boys all closed their eyes, but Y/n watched. And what she saw was a girl. A girl with a shaved head, wearing nothing but a huge, yellow, oversized 'Benny's Burgers' t-shirt, and she was soaked from the rain.
"Hey." Y/n put on a soft voice, due to the fact that the girl seemed terrified.
"It's okay, I won't hurt you, I promise."
The boys opened their eyes.
"Holy shit!"
"What the-"
"Guys!" Y/n gave a quiet shout. "She's obviously scared shitless, she doesn't need you guys to add onto it! All you're gonna do is make her feel more like the odd-one-out!"
She put her soft voice back on. "Hey. Here, c'mon, let's get you out of the rain, okay?" Y/n offered her hand, which the girl hesitantly took, and Y/n led her out of the woods.
Y/n took the girl to her house, gave her clothes, and learned her name was Eleven, which she picked the nickname "El" for.
El spent the rest of her time during the whole shebang in Y/n's room.

"El." Y/n smiled, breaking the silence.
El looked at Mike with glossy eyes, before they shared a tight hug, as if it was the last.
"I never gave up on you. I called you every night. Every night for-"
"353 days. I heard." El interrupted.
Mike's face dropped a bit. "Why didn't you let me know that you were there? That you were okay?"
"Because I wouldn't let her." Hopper interjected. "What is this? The hell have you been?"
"Where've you been?" El leaned close as Hopper wrapped an arm around her in a hug.
Mike's expression fell even more. "You've been hiding her." He ran over to Hopper, and shoved him. "You've been hiding her this whole time!"
"Hey, hey, hey, hey!" Hopper grabbed Mike's shoulder. "Let's talk. Alone." And they walked into another room.
El looked over at Y/n and they started walking towards each other.
Y/n wraps her arms around El, and El does the same. A tear rolls off Y/n's cheek as they pull away. "I missed you."
"I missed you too." El nods, and a tear falls from her eye as well. Both girls chuckle and El walks over to hug Dustin and Lucas. When the trio break the hug, Max walks up to El.
"Um... Eleven?" She put a hand out for El to shake. "I'm Max. I've heard a lot about you."
El just walks past the redhead, their shoulders bumping. Max is left there with her hand out.
Y/n put an arm around Max. "It's okay, she probably thinks you're trying to steal Mike. She sees how pretty you are so she finds you as a threat. Competition. She'll warm up once she realizes that's not your motive at all."
Max blushed and smiled at Y/n, who's hand moved from around Max, to Max's hand.
Max and Y/n went to go sit down while El greeted more people.
They just sat in silence, interlocked fingers while Hopper explained everything to El after coming out of the room with Mike.
Max broke the silence. "You mean it?"
Y/n turned to Max, confused. "What?"
"You called me pretty earlier. You mean that?"
"Of course! You're like, the most beautiful person I know!" Y/n told her, as if it was obvious.
Max grinned. "You're the most beautiful person I know, too."
The two blushed and smiled at one another.
They got back to the others and found out their plan. El was going to go to the lab with Hopper to close the gate, and Joyce, Jonathan, and Nancy were going to take Will to a cabin of Hopper's out in the woods to burn the Mind Flayer out of him.
El and Mike said goodbye, and they WERE going to kiss, but Hopper interrupted after giving Jonathan directions to the cabin as he put Will in the Byer's car.
Dude!
Joyce, Nancy, and Jonathan took Will out to the cabin and the party -along with Max and Steve- were left at the Byer's.

They wanted to set the Upside Down on fire.
Sometime during their time waiting around in the house, they formed a plan that they were going to go into the tunnels that Will drew, and set it on fire.
All the kids thought this was a great idea, because it would help get the Mind Flayer out of Will, and it would help El. Steve on the other hand, was not so fond of the idea. He insisted on the matter that they would all die doing this.
Their arguing came to an early end when they heard an engine revving outside. Max peeked out the blinds and immediately realized who it was.
"Billy."
