Sonic POV:

looked at the ebony hedgehogs tag. Shadow. His name is shadow? I felt frozen in my spot and probably would've stayed there if it wasn't for the albino hedgehog "h-hey are you okay?" he asked, giving me a shy smile. I went in line to get my food and the albino hedgehog was behind me. Once I grabbed my food the albino hedgehog came to me and asked "C-can I sit with you, y-you seemed nice so I-" "Sure" I replied and gave him a small smile. he followed me and I glanced back at the ebony hedgehog. I looked at him and he looked at me. It felt awkward for a moment and then we both glanced away. I walked with silver and sat down next to him and I looked at his tag. Silver. I mean it makes sense. I thought to myself.

"Remember when the old man said that we had to work with another partner and at the moment there was a different room?" silver asked. I couldn't help but to laugh.

"What did I say something wrong"

I continued to laugh while I managed to say "Old man?" I laughed and he blushed. "S-sorry" he said and I replied

"no need to apologize I just thought that was funny the way you said it"

"How did I say it?"

"Well, it sounded like a child-"

"I don't sound like a child."

"Sure," I said, rolling my eyes and grinning while he pouted. "You also pout like a child." I giggled a bit. "No, I don't know, shut up." he said, still pouting. I tried to hold my laughter but it felt impossible. "Ok, ok what were you saying." I said, trying to breathe. "Well, look at them, don't you find them a bit...scary?" he whispered and I looked at the table. "no, not really?" I said and he replied "Well I do." I looked back at the table and at the ebony hedgehog. Should I tell Sliver about him? I debated for a while until my thoughts were interrupted by silver asking "are you ok?" I nodded and replied "yes." Anytime I looked at the dark hedgehog with crimson stripes I couldn't help but to shiver. I knew I saw him before. There was something about him that I just don't understand. Like there was a piece missing. "Well, are you excited for the tournament?" I asked and he shook his head. "Honestly, I feel the opposite. I'm scared." He said and I put my hand on his shoulder and said "Don't worry I think you'll do great...but I bet I can do better." I said with a cocky grin and he laughed and said "Sure."

Me and Silver talked for a bit and I could tell he was warming up to me which was nice, since it was kinda boring without company. I kept glancing back at the same hedgehog. His red ruby eyes looked colder than ice as it glanced around what seemed to look like an outdoor cafeteria. His eyes showed no warmth, no friendship, he looked kind of like me but different.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

The middle-aged man's voice rang through the cafeteria through the magphone attached to the corner of the roof. "Breakfast is done you may now go back to rooms and you may not go to your partners room no matter the temptation." and there was a click and his voice died out immediately. I took one last glance at the hedgehog and this time his eyes fell on mine. My body felt cold instantly and the fur on my body stood up straight. I felt his ruby red eyes on mine and it felt like time was frozen in place. We stared at each other for what felt like an eternity before I left into the room and the door I swung the door shut. He saw me. Oh crap he saw me. It took me a moment to process everything. I stared at my feet just realizing I was wearing shoes. They were torn and ripped and looked old but it felt like I had a connection with them that i can't recall. My mind went blank and i couldn't think of anything else.

Silver sat next to the bat and I decided to follow him since I had nothing else to do. The bat looked at me and said "So silv is this your new friend~" she teased looking at me up and down making me a bit uncomfortable. "So do any of you have any memory of how you got here?" I attempted to make a conversation. I looked at the bats tag. Rouge is her name? "I wish hun, it's impossible and everything is just such a blur. I'm more preoccupied with the tournament. Honestly, I don't trust that old f****" I could tell she was going to say worse but she looked at silver and held back. "Honestly, why would I waste my time here in this ratty old room? I feel like he's lying..." she suspected and I started to think about it. She has a point. I thought to myself. "I-i don't think so. Kidnapping is illegal and even though he is kind of mean who wouldn't kidnap people-" Rouge hushed him and said "Honestly, you too innocent to understand not everyone is as sweet as you hun." I looked at her and silver and said "I mean she does have a point. I feel like in my past we didn't get along and he doesn't seem to be a gentleman. " I said and Silver giggled.
