Life Is An Illusion

Life is but an illusion, a fleeting dream
A mirage of existence, or so it may seem
We walk through the shadows, lost in the night
Hoping to find meaning, in this endless fight

We chase after riches, and fame and power
But in the end, it all fades like a dying flower
We cling to our illusions, afraid to face the truth
That life is just a game, a cruel and twisted ruse

We build our castles, on a foundation of sand
Pretending it will last, forever and grand
But the tides of time, wash it all away
Leaving us with nothing, but a bitter dismay

We hold onto memories, like a lifeline to the past
But they slip through our fingers, never meant to last
For life is an illusion, a trick of the mind
And in the end, we leave it all behind

So embrace the darkness, and the shadows within
For life is but a fleeting moment, soon to begin
And when the illusion fades, and reality breaks through
We'll see that life was just a dream, a passing hue
