Chapter 17: Promises

That day was the last day people saw me laugh.

And about the crush thing, I made her swear over the River Styx that she wouldn't tell anyone.

David wanted to retake the fight scene at the Department of Mysteries so we're on the third extra day filming.

That fact just made things worse between Alicia and I.

'You still haven't finished?' One of her friends, Taylah jeered loudly. 'I thought that was supposed to finish three days ago!'

'Apparently it's her fault too.' Alicia said, nudging her. 'Proves my point, doesn't it? Doing it for more than fifteen years doesn't mean you'll be the expert.'

'She's obviously better than gits like you!' Em retaliated.

'Oh - look who's talking.'

They cackled with laughter.

'Oh yeah, did you know that her grandma was a journalist? And a translator? What did she expect she could do? Like as if she could s -'

WHAM!!

Something inside me snapped. I stormed up to her and slapped her across the face so hard that the sound rang through the entire courtyard, my blood boiling from anger.

'Don't you dare speak of her like that you -'

As I raised my arm again, another of her friend, Emily, grabbed my arm but I easily pulled it away: she wasn't even that strong. Alicia threw a punch back at me which I easily dodged and gave her a hard kick on the side of her stomach, making cry out in pain and clutch her side. I gave her a punch in the stomach as well.

At this point, two pair of arms grabbed me and dragged me away from them as far away as possible, trying to avoid my hands or legs colliding with their body as I thrashed around.

'Sakura, calm -'

'Let go of me. LET GO!' I screamed, my face burning. The two pair of arms changed to one, to a different pair and held me back. I saw that Alicia was being held back by her friends too.

'Sakura. Sakura! Calm down!' Kosuke tightened the grasp.

'Calm down?' I spat. 'Calm down!?'

'Yes, calm down.' Mr Greene said, suddenly appearing in between us. 'Both of you. My office. Now.'

With Kosuke still holding me, I shot a death glare at Alicia as I hastily started following Mr Greene, Alicia and her friends following, holding her too. Em and Thomas were right next to us.

'Sit down.' We did. 'Explain yourselves.'

'She slapped me in the face, kicked me on the side and punched me in the stomach.' Alicia said instantly, wincing in pain slightly.

'You insulted my grandmother. Serves you right.' I said acidly.

'Sakura.' Mr Greene said warningly. 'What both of did was certainly inappropriate behaviour. If anything like that happens again, I will have to suspend both of you.'

Neither of us said anything but I thought to myself bitterly, She's already done enough...

'Understood?' Mr Greene raised his eyebrows.

'Yes.' I mumbled, not making eye contact with him or Alicia. I assumed she nodded because Mr Greene said, 'Right. Off you go, and remember my words.'

A part of me was happy that the conversation was short, but my head still hurt from anger.

As soon as I stepped out of the building, Em seized my arms and dragged me to the corner, away from the others.
