"I can help you with studying if you want to," Wednesday said. "But not now, I need to buy a dress since you...agreed."

Enid thought. She didn't have a dress, too. She could put something together with the clothes she had...or go shopping with her prom date.

The answer was obvious.

And she soon found herself walking alongside Wednesday in a clothes store. Surprisingly, by the time they arrived at the store itself, she had learned more about Wednesday than for the three or four months she was talking to her. It looked like Wednesday wanted to talk, which for a really quiet girl the whole time was strange.

It made her believe Wednesday could like her too.

"What about these?"

Wednesday came out of the changing booth, wearing a slim black dress with white short lines on the bottom, paired with a pair of black not-so-high heels.

"It's great!" "You said that about the last 3 too," Wednesday said, walking back into the booth to change back into her normal clothes. Since Enid knew she would pick it up right away, she already had a white wool dress in which she already knew she would be hot.

"Well, maybe it's the person who makes it great," Enid said, trying to compliment her as a friend.

"Doubt it," Wednesday said from behind the curtain.

"Well, you can't deny the facts." Enid continued in hopes Wednesday would finally say something positive.

"I'm not a model." "But you don't have to be a model to look pretty," Enid said.

Wednesday put her head out of the booth but the curtain still hiding the inside, and she looked at Enid.

"Pretty?" Wednesday asked, slightly blushing. Enid only just now realized what she had said, and just nodded. Wednesday probably took that as an answer and hid back in the booth.

Shit. What did I just say? Enid asked herself as Wednesday wasn't looking at her. What if Wednesday sees this as if she was being inappropriate to her, and she just walks away?

"I'll go with the last one. It's comfortable." Wednesday said, walking out of the booth and throwing the rest of the clothes onto Enid. "Put them away, I need to look for one last thing."

Enid nodded, since it allowed her to process what she did, although she found it interesting...Wednesday wasn't distancing herself from her.

Maybe she didn't find it inappropriate?

"There's a thing I want to discuss with you."

They were walking back to the academy, each carrying a paper bag with clothes. And the sentence that Wednesday made...it kind of scared Enid.

"S-Sure." "Let's sit down, there's a café," Wednesday added, pointing at a small café. They both crossed the road and sat down on the first free chairs.

Wednesday seemed nervous since Enid saw her fidgeting with the strings on her hoodie as she was reading the menu.

"Enid." Wednesday began, making Enid put the menu down, and face her.

"Yes?" "Do you...have an interest in me?" Wednesday asked, which completely caught Enid off-guard.

"W-Why do y-you think...?" Enid nervously chuckled, blushing.

"You...agreed on going to a prom...with me..." Wednesday said. "Someone who scares people."

Yes, that was true. But it could be one of the factors why Enid liked her.

"And?" "It just doesn't make any sense...so that's why I think about if you like me or not." Wednesday finished.

Was Enid going to tell her how she feels?

"I...do like you," Enid said. "I tried to push it away, telling myself it isn't right to like another girl...but slowly you broke the barrier I tried to set and got into my heart. So yes, I like you very much."

Wednesday nodded as a sign of understanding because she saw the waitress approaching them. They both ordered their drinks and silently waited as they came.

Enid didn't want to say anything, because she had just confessed to Wednesday, and Wednesday was still thinking.

"I...like you too."

Enid slowly looked at Wednesday, who was nervously looking down, trying not to look into Enid's eyes.

What was Enid supposed to do now? She has never been in a relationship before, the furthest she got was to get invited on a date, but got stood up. She didn't even have a kiss, she was still a virgin, so in the end, she had no experience.

Wednesday looked the same...

"You do?" "Yeah," Wednesday replied. "That's why...I came to you. With the prom."

Were they supposed to kiss now?

"Right, sorry. Makes sense." Enid said, cursing her brain for being so stupid.

Wednesday chuckled as she took a sip of her coffee. Was she really laughing because of how stupid Enid was?

Or...was Wednesday just genuinely happy, and this was the way for her to show it...?

"Could you...smile?" Enid asked as she looked at Wednesday. Wednesday didn't wait a moment and smiled brightly. It warmed Enid's heart seeing how pretty was the girl.

And all because she needed notes...
