They finally came to an old run down windmill, surrounded by thick fog. Outside, was several tables pushed up together, with a bunch of chairs.

A Hare was sitting in one, snoring away, while Mally popped up out of a tea pot, yawning and stretching.

At the head of the table, sat a tall man with pale skin, and wild orange hair that had a top hat sitting on it.

The man looked up and saw Alice and (Y/n) walking towards them. He grinned widely and climbed on the table, walking across it.

He hopped off the end and knelt in front of Alice. "It's you!" He exclaimed.

"No it's not! McTwisp brought us the wrong Alice!" Mally insisted.

"No, I don't think he did." (Y/n) argued.

Hatter looked up at (Y/n) and stood up, smiling even wider. "(Y/n)! I'm so happy you're here! I missed you. I was worried about you. What took you so long?" He ranted.

(Y/n) smiled lightly. "Sorry Hatter. We had a run in with the Queen's guards and the Bandersnatch."

"Bandersnatch?!" Hatter exclaimed, grabbing her cheeks in his hands, looking her over.

"Are you alright? Are you hurt? What happened? Are you alright? I've asked you that already. What haven't I asked you yet? Why is a Raven like a writing desk?"

"Hatter!" (Y/n) interrupted, grabbing onto his wrists. "I'm fine."

Hatter smiled again. "Oh, good."

He slipped a hand around her waist and took Alice's hand in his other, leading them back across the top of the table.

"As you can see, we're still having tea. And it's all because I was obliged to kill Time waiting for your return." Hatter rambled, walking along the table.

He climbed down and pulled a chair and gestured for (Y/n) to sit. When she did, he pushed the chair forward so she was properly sitting at the table.

"You are terribly late you know. Naughty." Hatter lightly scolded, booping (Y/n) on the nose.

"Now, I can't stay mad at you, but Time became quite offended and stopped working altogether." Hatter said, placing a box on another seat for Alice.

"Time can be funny in dreams." Alice replied, sitting down.

The Hare laughed crazily and stared at his broken cup. "...Cup..."

"Yes, yes, of course, but now you're back, you see, and we need to get on to the Frabjuous Day."

The Hare and Mally cheered at this.

"I'm investigating things that begin with the letter 'M'." Hatter announced.

Then he leaned closer to Alice. "Have you any idea why a raven is like a writing desk?" He whispered. "Downal wyth Bluddy Behg Hid!" Hatter suddenly exclaimed in a distorted voice.

"What?" Alice asked.

"Down with the Bloody Big Head." Cheshire translated as he appeared at the end of the table. "The Bloody Big Head being the Red Queen."
