Hunger is
Both prey and predator.
It attacks,
But it also evades.
It growls at me when
I don't want to hear it,
And stays silent when
I wish I had it.
In these days,
I try to lure it in.
But no bait, no food
Seems to be working.
Its aim is clear,
Whether one strategy or the other.
The end result
Is wasting away.
