Chapter 5: Earning the Guardian's Trust

Yus' PoV

As said earlier in the night, Cyte invited me to go spend some time together as a way to talk about whatever she had in mind, the place chosen was the bar inside the headquarters which was surprisingly silent compared to how i imagined it to actually be

Yus: "So...what was it, again?" I asked the girl as she sat down infront of me, looking straight into my eyes with her always neutral stare

Cyte: "First, i want to congratulate you, for your bravery to go into the field almost alone and retrieving Yuna from her kidnappers. I want to talk about her...for a Pillar, her Essence levels are worryingly low" It wasn't something made up, i felt it as well when i carried her back, and even i could tell that wasn't normal for a Pillar

Yus: "What could be causing it i wonder..."

Cyte: "Whatever it is we can ask directly once she wakes up...but that aside, this is mainly a date to speak of anything you have a doubt on" She stated the motive of the reunion, still referring to it as a date

Yus: "Call it hang out...and, i do have plenty of questions" Cyte made a 'go on' sign with her hand, allowing me to continue my speech "For starters...i want to ask about something a friend of mine said, she said i had some Unisence in my eye but i can't exactly decipher what she meant..."

Yuika said in our introduction with Aoi that my red eye replaced a Unisence, now that i knew what those were i couldn't find much sense in that. Cyte tilted her head in wonder for a moment, leaning close to examine my eye

Cyte: "...throughout scan complete. I can confirm it is not an Unisence nor Etersence, you have a fusion of two types of Divine Eyes" She said after a second of staring at me, leaning back again after

Yus: "Divine Eye?"

Cyte: "A Divine Eye is a rank of skill, usually given to Deities and Gods, but in your case it is an unusual category that equals the power of a Pillar's Unisence, in other words, an Etersence. It is no wonder it sometimes gets confused for one of those"

I reached to put my hand over my red eye as if wanting to feel it without touching it, not understanding much but getting a clearer view of it

Yus: "So that's what it is...can you tell what it does?"

Cyte: "I cannot provide that kind of information, it is something you will have to figure out" Her knowledge could only go so far, and i can't demand more than she can provide either ways, so it's best to leave it at that

Cyte summoned a screen by her side, touching it all around as she moved the images in it from side to side. She was obviously trying to entertain herself, so an idea came to mind once i thought of it long enough

Yus: "Say...would you mind if i asked for your help after this?" The blue haired was obviously not getting what i asked her, showing a confused face as if asking for elaboration "...i mean, helping outside with Corruption and all, i get Guardians are crazy strong so you could help. Plus, i might have some more questions that i want to answer soon"

She closed the screen and placed both hands over the table, looking down at them with a pensive expression thinking of what answer to give, not so long after replying to the question

Cyte: "...before that, i ask for your permission to fight you, i'd like to know my Pillar's capabilities before anything" Her request wasn't a surprise, i expected to be asked for this sooner or later specially by someone of this Faction, if i was really their Pillar i needed to prove i could take on the job
