Sonic's POV

The day had continued, and after the awkward moment at the cafe, I found myself back in my apartment, trying to put the strange encounter behind me. But the tension in the air lingered, and I couldn't shake the feeling that my past with Scourge was dangerously close to being exposed.

Just as I was sinking into my thoughts, Shadow, who had been trailing me since the cafe, asked a surprising question. "Sonic, how about we go out for a while? Just you and me?"

I blinked in surprise. The idea of getting away from Scourge's watchful eyes was tempting, and I agreed almost too eagerly, desperate for a moment of respite.

Turning to Scourge, who was lounging on the couch, I asked, "Hey, Scourge, is it alright if I go out with Shadow for a bit?"

Scourge glanced at me, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Sure thing, Blue. But I've got a condition," he replied, leaning in to whisper the condition into my ear.

Shadow's POV

With Sonic's agreement to go out with me, I couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope that our past might start to resurface. But I had to play it cool and not reveal my true intentions. Sonic had no memory of our past life together, and I had to be patient.

I took Sonic to some of our favorite places from our past life, hoping that the familiar surroundings might trigger his memories. We visited the old hilltop where we used to race, the abandoned amusement park where we had so much fun, and the serene lakeside where we often relaxed.

As we walked through these places, Sonic seemed lost in thought, and I noticed his expression flicker with moments of recognition. He was getting glimpses of our past life, but they were fleeting, like fragments of a distant dream.

Sonic's POV

While on these outings with Shadow, I couldn't help but feel a strange sense of déjà vu. The places he took me to triggered moments of familiarity, like distant memories trying to claw their way to the surface.

But every time I felt a glimmer of recollection, it slipped away like sand through my fingers. It was frustrating and confusing. I didn't understand why these places held such significance or why they felt so hauntingly familiar.

I brushed off these fleeting memories as mere coincidences, not ready to confront the enigmatic past that seemed to be just out of reach. For now, I focused on enjoying the time away from Scourge, even if it was shrouded in mystery and unresolved questions.

Shadow's POV

As I continued to take Sonic to the places we had cherished in our past life, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. My heart ached with the desire to see Sonic remember our shared history, our love, but I had to tread carefully.

I found myself stealing glances at Sonic, watching for any sign that his memories were resurfacing. But every time I thought I saw a flicker of recognition in his eyes, it vanished as quickly as it had appeared.

In our past life, Sonic and I had been more than just friends we had been lovers. It was a love that had transcended time and space, and I couldn't deny that those feelings still lingered deep within me.

I tried to flirt subtly, dropping hints and compliments that only Sonic would understand, but I had to be cautious. I didn't want to push too hard and risk scaring him away. After all, he didn't remember our past life, and to him, I was just a friend.

Sonic's POV

During our outings, I couldn't shake the feeling that something important was eluding me, like a puzzle missing a crucial piece. Shadow's subtle flirting and compliments made my heart race, but I couldn't quite grasp the significance behind them.

As we walked together through these familiar places, I couldn't help but feel a connection to Shadow that went beyond friendship. It was as if there was a deep bond between us, one that transcended the boundaries of time and memory.

But whenever I felt a hint of clarity, the memories slipped through my fingers, leaving me frustrated and yearning for something just out of reach. I couldn't understand why these glimpses of our past life were so elusive, and it left me with a sense of longing that I couldn't quite define.
