Another Way Out. Regulus x reader

Part 2.9

Right outside of the tent there was a tree, I decided walking in Circles around the tree might help. I did about twenty rotations before I heard someone snickering.

I looked up to see regulus walking over to me.

"You look like a headless chicken running around that tree" he smiled.

"I might as well be, I am so nervous. What if I mess up again!" I stammered.

Regulus walked up to me and put his hands on my shoulders. " do you know what cortisol is" he asked me.

"Yeah, it's a stress hormone" I answered.

"Right, and do you know what serotonin and oxytocin are" regulus asked.

"Happy hormones right?" I asked.

Regulus smiled. "That's correct , right now the only reason you are nervous is because your cortisol levels are high. What you need is to raise your serotonin and oxytocin levels"

"How the fuck do I do that in less than five minutes" I groaned.

"Well there are a couple of ways but I know one that works like a charm in a time crunch" he said, and when he said this his face became softer, his eyes shut a bit and his jaw a little slack.

"I'll do anything," I groaned desperately. The game would be starting in five minutes and I needed to calm down before then.

"Okay" regulus mumbled before leaning in and kissing me.

And no it wasn't a little peck. It was an actual kiss.

At first it was so light I almost couldn't tell he was kissing me but seconds later I could feel his lips pressing firmly against mine.

Soon I was kissing him back. His hands had moved from my shoulders to my back pulling me in. I in turn put one hand on his shoulder and ran one through his hair.

Had I ever kissed someone before. No, so it was a bit strange at first. But after a few seconds it was very nice. He had very soft lips and he held onto me so gently.

Regulus started moving me backwards until my back hit the tree.

This moment was something I had been hoping for for months and it was so much better than I expected.

I don't know how long we went on for but what felt like mere seconds was interrupted by someone calling my name from inside the tent.

I quickly pulled away and looked at regulus who's eyelids were fluttering open and who's mouth had light pink chapstick smeared across it.

"I uh, I have to go" I stuttered while wiping around my moth to make sure my chapstick wasn't smeared.

" alright, good luck. I uh, hope that helped" regulus called to me as headed to the tent.

"Definitely" I chuckled before running into the tent.

"Do you feel better" sirius asked me as we walked onto the pitch.

"Oh yeah, I might try doing that more often" I giggled.

Sirius pulled a questioning look but decided to not ask questions. Seems to be a common trait in their family.

I got on my broom and got into position.

It was about thirty minutes into the game and gryffindor was up 70 to nothing.

I wasn't nervous at all and I had saved every shot so far.

At some point while the quaffle was on the other side of the field I turned my eyes over to the slytherin section. I was looking for regulus and saw him sitting with his friends. Evan Rosier, Barty Crouch, and Caius Avery. He seemed to be enjoying himself, laughing with his friends.

Evan seemed to point something out on reguluses face and started laughing. Regulus quickly wiped his sleeve over his mouth and laughed with his friend.

I had to cut my observation short when I saw a chaser coming towards me.

"Y/n you were amazing, they didn't make a single point the entire game" James jumped around with joy.

"Whatever you did really helped" Sirius observed.

"Yeah I agree" I chuckled as I walked out of the tent.

"We need to celebrate. How about a big party" Sirius suggested.

"Absolutely" James shouted.

"Yeah, I'll join in a bit but I have something I need to do first. I'll see you in a bit" I said quickly before running to the stairs in the stands.

I ran up the steps and walked over to the slytherin section which was completely empty except for one person.

"You did amazing!" Regulus yelled as I ran up to him.

"Thank you" I said as I jumped up into a hug and wrapped my legs around him.

"I couldn't have done it without your help these past few weeks" I said into his chest.

"I'm glad I helped, if ever you need help you can come to me" he told me.

We stayed like that for a minute before I let go and stood in front of him.

"Oh by the way, I wanted to ask you something." Regulus said suddenly quite shyly.

"Next weekend we are able to go to hogsmead and none of my friends are going so.....do you want to hang out with me. At hogsmead I mean." Regulus asked.

"Of course, I have some Christmas shopping to do and I would love the company" I beamed.

As soon as I said this regulus perked up and smiled.

"Great, it's a da- day to hang out" he fumbled.

"Yeah"

I also appreciate the comments on the chapters. Some of them really make me laugh.

I really hope that everyone is enjoying the story so far.  I am currently improving on my writing skills and I hope that once I am much better I can go through again and edit the story.
