Another Way Out. Regulus x reader

Part 2.8

"Why aren't they successful" I asked.
Regulus looked at me with an 'are you serious' expression.

"Almost no gryffindor girl would ever be caught dead with a slytherin. I mean, it's not like it doesn't happen but only very rarely" he explained.

"Oh" I said.

Regulus just shrugged.

"Honestly it's probably for the best. Almost every guy that wants to be with them just wants to be able to check off gryffindor as a conquest."

"Excuse me?" I said shocked.
Is he trying to do the same thing to me!

Regulus could hear my unhappy tone and sighed.
He pulled me too the side of the hallway and faced me. He put his hand on my shoulder and stood so close to me that I could smell his cologne.

"Look. I don't want you to think that I'm trying to do something similar because I'm not. I also don't want you to think that any guy from my house is trying to either. Most of the people in my house are really good people but the stuff I'm telling you is the fun and dramatic stuff. Okay?" Regulus explained.
I nodded my head understanding.

"Okay, good" regulus said keeping his hand on my shoulder.

In that moment I felt like everything was stopped. He was so close to me that all I wanted to do was go onto my tippy toes and lean in.

My eyes dipped down to his lips and back up to his eyes before I spoke.

"Do you want to hear about the gryffindor gossip?" I breathed.

Regulus began to smile a bit.
"Sure" he said before stepping back and beginning to walk again.

I cleared my throat before starting.
"Well, first things first, James and lily are dating now. Beforehand it wasn't entirely clear if they were or weren't but they have officially announced it." I began.

"There is also this one girl with a twin sister who's boyfriend accidentally slept with the other twin and now they are all fighting."

"Really? How hard is it to tell the difference between twins?" Regulus asked.

I shrugged. "With those girls it's honestly impossible to tell. But anyway, apparently this one girl was sleeping with a hufflepuff girl and they got walked in on by another girl and they may have had a three way but honestly I don't believe that one." I continued.

Apparently my gossip was interesting because regulus stayed engaged in it until we made it to the club's entrance.

"But yeah, I think she is back with her ex" I finished before we went into the room.

The moment we entered I was amazed by the room's contents. There were practice dummy's, score charts on the wall, and spell marks everywhere.

This was going to be awsome.

Since it was our first time at the club we didn't get to do basically anything. We got a tour and we're introduced to all of the club's members but we didn't do anything.

"I'm honestly disappointed that we didn't get to practice at all" i said to regulus.

"I agree, if I wanted to get a tour I could have come on a different day" regulus agreed.

"Yeah, anyway do you want to go to the library and hang out?" I asked him.

Since there were gryffindor students at the club I wasn't able to spend as much time with regulus as I had originally hoped. That's why I offered to go to the library.
