I get into my Uber, heading to my childhood home. I decided to surprise my family, they all think I am staying in England for another week.
I am extremely excited to see them, since I haven't seen them since Christmas last year only for 2 weeks, they were going to fly out for my graduation but the University moved it so that it was earlier and they couldn't make it because of work. Not that I minded I know they are all proud of me even if they weren't there in person to tell me.
The car comes to a stop pulling me out of my thoughts. I pay the driver and get my suitcases heading to the door. Holding on my 3 definitely overfull suitcases I knock on the door.
The door open and before I can even say hello my mom pulls me into a bone crushing hug. "ALEXANDER!! Ooh my precious boy your actually here! I've missed you so much!" She practically shouts for the whole of Monaco to hear.
"Maman let him go we would also like to greet him you know" Authur says with a smile pulling me into a hug as well, following Lorenzo and then lastly Charles.
"I have missed you so much you have no idea." He said while hugging me. Me and Charles have always been really close, not that me and my other brothers aren't, I have just always felt I can trust him with anything.
It hit him pretty hard when I decided to move away for University, since we were always glued to the hip, even if we don't have similar interests. I would go to his karting practices and races with a history book in hand and he would go to museums with me watching F1 races on his phone when I would stare at the artifacts and paintings for hours.
" We were just going to start eating dinner, I made pesto pasta." My mom says making her way inside
"Ughh, you have no idea how much I have missed your pasta Maman." I say sitting down at the dining table looking at the delicious pasta my mom is putting into a plate for me.
" Well if you told me you were coming earlier I would have made your favorite, Alfredo." " I wanted to suprise you guys" I say with mouth full of food.
"You definitely did, ah but I am so glad your here." My mom says kissing me on my cheek and going to sit down.
"So, Alex any boyfriend we should be aware of?" Lorenzo ask, causing me to almost choke on my food.
"Oh my god! No Enzo, I anyway need to focus on my new job so no boyfriend for me."
"Wait, new job? You didn't tell me you got a job, does that mean your going back to England. You said you will take a few months to watch some of my races and then start searching for a job." Charles ask confused and a little hurt over the fact I didn't tell him.
"Cool your pants Charles, I only start in 3 months, so I can still go to some of your races, just not all of them. And I won't be needing to head back to England the job is at The Nouveau Musée National de Monaco as an archival historian."
''That is fantastic, I am so proud of you Alexander, it will be amazing that your back in Monaco for good, I have missed you so much my boy!'' My mom exclaims, clearly excited over the news that I got a job in Monaco.
''So you will be able to go to all of the races until summer break? I'm so excited to have you back at the grid, and the guys as well, they all have been nagging me about it after you came to watch at Silverstone last year.''
''Yeah the last one I will be able to watch in person is Belgium, and I'm really excited as well to see the guys again especially Lando.'' I reply.''What so your more excited to see that child more than your own brother, I see how it is.'' Charles says dramatically turning his head as if he is offended about what I said. ''Oh shut up, as if you're any better, and you know I'm excited to see you race.''
My mom and my other brothers all laugh at our bickering, and it makes me realize just how much I have truly missed them all. It feels good to be home.
