he reached a hand out to move the hair out of beomgyu's face, wanting to see more of it.

i guess he was still cute after all these years, after all. maybe, even cuter than before.

he smiled, think about how beomgyu went through the trouble of going to his house for a measly project. but that smile dropped soon after when he remembered how touchy his sister got with him.

for some reason. he felt jealous when his sister, eunji, kept trying to flirt with beomgyu. his face turned blank, thinking about how the raven haired boy blushed when eunji complimented him.

he was so deep in his thoughts that he didn't even realize beomgyu had woken up.

"y-yeonjun?" beomgyu blinked for a few seconds, not sure of what was happening.

did the bell ring already? nobody was in the classroom anymore. he focused his attention back to the blushing boy.

confused, he tilted his head. but he felt that his palm was warmer than earlier. he soon realized that his hand was still caressing beomgyu's cheek. and that their faces were less than a few centimeters apart.

he quickly jumped back, realizing the awkward position they were in. "s-sorry" yeonjun mumbled. he suddenly forgot what he was about to ask beomgyu earlier.

"it's.. okay?" beomgyu didn't dislike it, but he was curious to know what the older was doing that he had to caress beomgyu's face and get so close. he was just blushing again, rethinking the position they were just in.

"i'll, uh.. i'm gonna go home. see you!" yeonjun quickly packed his bag and ran out the classroom, leaving beomgyu to sit there alone.

"i can't believe i like that weirdo.." beomgyu muttered under his breath as he started to pack his bag too soon after.

should beomgyu come over to yeonjun's house again for the assignment? no, maybe he should lay it off for a bit, he just went yesterday. but the thing was due on the tenth, his birthday was on the thirteenth. did he really wanna spend his birthday hanging out with yeonjun and doing a project? half yes, half no.

while beomgyu was thinking hard about it, he realized that he only had nine days left to hang out with yeonjun again before they go back to being enemies. he doesn't want that. he just might have to apologize first and befriend him..

he's willing to do that for yeonjun.

so, he was back at yeonjun's doorstep. not for the project, fuck that. he just wanted to see yeonjun before he went back home.

he knocked on the door, playing with his fingers as he waited.

the door opened and the door opened. his eyes lit up in anticipation, but they died down soon after when he realized it was yeonjun's sister.

"ohh~ cutie! you're here to see me, right? come in!" she smiled and pulled him in. beomgyu's eyes widened. was yeonjun not home?

"uh- sorry, but is y-" beomgyu was about to speak but he was interrupted by a squeal.

"you sound as cute as you look! you even have a lisp, oh my god aren't you just the cutest thing on earth? you're just my type! what's your name? i'm eunji!" one of her hands squeezed beomgyu's cheek, while the other one was holding onto his arm.

"erm.. it's beomgyu" he was a bit overwhelmed with all her yelling. he nervously chuckled when she held his hand.

"ahh! you should've came over sooner! you're one of yeonjun's friends, aren't you? come wait in my room! i have to do something first" eunji nudged beomgyu into her room and left to do something.

he looked around. it was.. a typical sixteen year old's room. he wouldn't be catching a case, right..? he was only two years older than him.

he stood in the middle of the room, not sure what he should do. until he heard eunji yell out yeonjun's name. he couldn't help but eavesdrop now.

"yeonjun-ah!" she knocked on yeonjun's door loudly. beomgyu heard him open his door.

"what do you want, rat?" yeonjun groaned at the disruption.

"make sure you don't bother me for a while, kay? my boyfriend came over to see me!" eunji happily exclaimed. wait wait wait.. boyfriend? did he hear that right?

"you're lying, let me see him. no boy would ever like you" yeonjun's voice got louder and closer to the room. oh no.. yeonjun was gonna think that beomgyu liked his sister.

he kept his eyes shut as he heard yeonjun come in.

"..beomgyu?" yeonjun tilted his head in confusion. soon after, eunji came in.

"yeonjunn! i told you not to bother us!" she whined, trying to push yeonjun out.

"no.. you're bothering him. c'mon, gyu" yeonjun stepped forward and pulled beomgyu away, leaving eunji alone in her room.

"gyu?" beomgyu smiled at the nickname as soon as they arrived in yeonjun's room.

yeonjun didn't even realize that the nickname slipped out his mouth.

"ha..ha.. anyways.. did you come over for the project, or was it something else?" yeonjun quickly changed the topic, not having any excuses come to mind.

"i.. just wanted, uh. to say.. s-sorry for whatever i did.. for you to hate me. and that i.. wanna be friends.." beomgyu stumbled over his words, finding it quite hard to apologize for something he didn't know he did.

the room was filled with silence until yeonjun laughed.

"you really think i hate you?" he finally spoke after his sudden burst of laughter. huh? he didn't hate beomgyu? that was the biggest plot twist of the century.

"wait- but you- you spread a rumor about me, and you said you hated me for being rich and cocky, and then you said you hated me for being 'homophobic'?" it was almost impossible for beomgyu to be homophobic, though. he literally had a secret relationship with a guy in seventh grade.

"the rumor was to get your attention, i don't hate you for being cocky, and you are kinda homophobic in a sense" yeonjun debunked all of beomgyu's questions in less than a few seconds. now, the younger was dumbfounded.

"so you're saying that you got me bullied for my attention, which i don't understand why. and you lied about hating me for no reason, and i'm suddenly homophobic now?" beomgyu crossed his arms. he couldn't help but feel upset.

"i was a dumb fourteen year old, was too far in to take back the lie, and you kinda are" yeonjun answered all of beomgyu's thoughts quick.

"how am i even homophobic?" beomgyu furrowed his eyebrows, curious to hear what excuses he was about to spew out now.

"you don't remember me, do you beomgyu-ah?" yeonjun leaned in.

beomgyu's cheeks heated up, he wasn't expecting yeonjun to get so close.

"um, yes i do. you're the annoying little kid who spread a rumor about me in eighth grade."

"wrong, i confessed to you in sixth grade, don't you remember?" yeonjun inched in even closer.

"what- oh. the one.. that was friends with s-soobin?" beomgyu hasn't said that name in a while. he quickly realized what yeonjun was talking about. finally piecing the parts together. now he was really seeing a resemblance between the twelve year old boy and the now eighteen year old one.

he was just forgetting about it. but, he doesn't remember anything homophobic?
