Ezra'a POV:
She's beautiful. What the fuck, this isn't happening. I will not catch feelings. This is an investment. But her big green eyes and silky brown hair. No.

I stay investigating my feelings for a couple of minutes. I knew I couldn't let it happen. My feelings would get in the way of work. It was too important to risk it over some girl.

I leave my office and head up to my room, where I found a limp body fast asleep in the middle of it. A little smile brushes across my lips as fast as what I wipe it away. This deal had been in place a while so I kept secretly checking in on her. I hope she knows my intention isn't to hurt her.

I respect women with my whole heart, which could get me killed. My mama had raised me correctly. Maybe incorrectly for a mafia leader but I adored her. She was my everything. I pull out my phone to see her on my Lock Screen before glancing at the time and realising it's late. I have a quick shower and get changed.

Aurora's POV:
I groan as I feel someone move me out of my deep sleep. I squint hesitant to open my eyes to see Ezra. How annoying. He had gently moved me so he could get into bed. Butterflies filled my stomach as his hands were on my waist. He let go when he realised the pillows were wet.

He turns his lamp on which was on his bedside table. "Why are the pillows wet tesoro?" A frown appears on his face. I wish he would stop saying that word, I don't know what it means. "Just don't," and he quickly realises I had been crying from the puffiness of my eyes.

He flips our pillows over and whispers goodnight. I let out a deep breath before falling back into a deep sleep.

The morning arrived as the birds chirped and light shone through the curtains. He was already up. I hear a knock at the door. "Come in." I say with a morning voice confused as to who could be outside the bedroom door. A maid walks in with food. "Breakfast ma'am." She places the tray down onto my lap and bows her head.

She scurried out of the room before I could even say thank you. I wasn't bothered as the food looked amazing. It smelt delicious, I made no mistakes in trying some straight away. I love waffles! I take a bite and realise the waffle batter had cinnamon mixed in. I could taste it. My tongue swelled and my throat started to close.

I scramble onto the landing trying to scream for help, but no words come out. My vocal cords refused to work as the cinnamon tried killing me from the inside out. I pick up a vase off a little table in the hallway and smash it against the floor hoping someone would come to my rescue.
